I may be wrong but I thought the 91’ team was the crew that went black cleats. Kevin Williams is a guy a remember wearing the black cleats and that was the time it was “in”, if you will. Could be way off but that is my recollection.A lot of black cleats on that 1987 team.

It was the 2002 team that started the black on black sock and cleats combo. Only time they wore white socks and cleats was when the trotted put those god awful orange pants vs FSU and Va TechAnd 2001 as well. Everybody acts as though black is the tradition. It is not. White tops, orange pants are the traditional road uniform.
