Not at all. Shoe companies do it all the time; especially for the NCAA BB post season and tournament(s).

They’ve been doing it for bowl games and featured games and rivalry...for marketing purposes, how is this different?

ESPN has been smart to actually advertise the special uniforms of Saturday mornings so it’s just more advertising.
