Uniform Changes

If they are basically throwbacks to those old uniforms they'll look outdated. I'm sure that'll rustle up some feathers and I like tradition, but somewhere in between would be good. Ultimately though, I don't care what the uniforms look like, just win.

As for sneakers, check out Brooks, comfortable as **** and better designs than Nike or Adidas IMHO right now.

simple stripes on the sleeve will never be outdated, its just a simple classic look some teams in the college and pros haven't changed from that look and dont look outdated at all, bears, packers 49ers etc. and in college take a look at lsu or auburn film from the 80's on youtube those unis look pretty much identical to what they have now and nobody says those teams look outdated

Bama has had the same uniform for decades.

I disagree, but that's okay.

Everything changes from cars to hairstyles, to clothing. Some things I thought were great looking back in the day, I don't see it that way anymore. Seeing things change over time opens your eyes up.

I don't think the old uniforms are bad, I just feel that they're simple. Again, not such a bad thing, but there's a lot of simple uniforms out there that all look alike, much of that due to Nike just changing color patterns up.

Yes, you mention some teams that haven't changed much, but they have. They do look dated to me, so there goes the idea of nobody seeing it that way. Again, there are subtle differences though.

Either way, just win and they can turn the uniforms pink for all I care. The only place I'd draw a line in the sand would be replacing the U with the **** clam.....worst logo idea ever.

Subtle changes, but while distinctly identifiable, their uniforms aren't anything to write home about. I used to like PSU's old school look, but it's tired to me now even though they've changed it a bit.

Trajan Bandy said he's going to wear ST's old tinted visor.

I saw Pete mention on twitter that it would only be during practices

Man, that's one thing I miss about the Canes....those visors. Straight hit men out there and the QBs had no idea where they were looking at.

those things were incredible. sadly they'll never come back, especially with the increased attention on concussions.

Meanwhile, all the Boost models of Adidas and the Yeezys sell out within minutes of release. Young folks and sneaker freaks love Adidas. I don't know what you guys are talking about thinking Adidas isn't getting big in the game.

Chise, check it...I'm a true sneaker head. Got two garages filled w/ shoes.

No. 1, Adidas is on the come up when it comes to fashion and running shoes. Yeezy signing w/ Adidas gave them a true boost. Kanye is looked as some sort of demi-god by people. One of the best moves on Adidas part. But Adidas always was on that hip-hop tip. Run DMC, Pharrell, Pusha-T, Two-Chains....that's their lane, and they do well in that lane.

No. 2, Adidas and their boost technology is some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn for working out. I was always a Nike Air Max guy, but the boost technology is ridiculous.

No. 3, Adidas Zero Cleats are smooth as a babies bottom...but they are still designed more for the soccer athlete v. the football athlete.

No. 4, Points 1-3 have zero to do w/ the ugly design of our uniforms, and it highlights the fact that Adidas is now focused more on shoes and sponsoring individual athletes v. apparel. Ever since Adidas dissed MJ, they've made their money on fashion wear, and futbol, not American sports apparel. When they got involved in sponsoring league uniforms, they bled money b/c it did not help their sales or exposure to the American Athlete. Their hope was in DRose, fail. Now their new hope is in James Harden...but they should be pimping the crap out of Damien Lillard instead.

No. 5, there is zero comparison to the Nike jerseys v. what Adidas have given us, THUS FAR. I'm more interested in what they have in store for us in October.

For the record, I do not hate Adidas, I just don't prefer them for basketball shoes, football cleats, and replica football jerseys. We all have our preference...but to say that the current designs are better is asinine. However, I do feel that Adidas will be on the come up, eventually, to reclaim no. 2, but I really can't see Adidas ever overtaking Nike in my life time.

I'm a sneaker guy too. And the Adidas stuff is on point.

The reason I bring up Adidas making a big move in the sneaker game is because that sets the tone for everything. If the sneakers are right, the kids jump on board. They don't give a fck about the quality of construction of the football jerseys. They care about hype and what's hot.

My dude. Stevie Francis. Unfortunately we got males putting shorts on, making sure they got a check mark on the left leg.

Adidas isn't close to Nike. Just stop. Look at Ucla's uni's now look at Oregon's. Be real with yourselves.

THIS, I can understand why people are trying to say Adidas isn't chili dog nerd **** anymore, since Miami signed with Adidas. And while that may be true to an extent, Nike is top notch. Would've been awesome for Miami to have been a Jordan brand Football squad like Michigans deal.

Thank you!!!

I knew Richt wouldn't put up w/ the crap Adidas was giving us. Michigan fans couldn't wait to leave Adidas...but Adidas needs us, and I think they've done a good job in listening to us. When the font came out, we complained about it, and they fixed it, to a certain extent. Now, we've complained about the jerseys and they are trying to fix it. I do like that about them.

And michigan went and put a basketball player logo on their jerseys. Stupidest **** i've ever seen.

Jordan is no longer "just" a basketball brand (see Dez Bryant, Charles Woodson, Alshon Jeffery, our very own Andre Johnson, and CC Sabathia, Neymar Jr, Andre Ward, etc.) Jordan is becoming the "brand of excellence" from Nike, based upon Jordan's rep. Those days of just b-ball are over.

Those shoes cost Nike $2.15 to make in a rural Chinese sweatshop....sell them for $200. Phil Knight is laughing at all the suckers who buy his marked up polyester and rubber garbage.

Stop throwing your money away, guys. Nike are junk.

Get yourself some nice Italian leather shoes instead.

Omg you're crazy!!!! Michigan being Jordan alone will draw interest. That is such a power move by them its not even funny.

I think the whole "recruits will flock to fancy jerseys" fad is over, if it ever actually existed. We saw Oregon play every game in a different uniform since they'er Phil Knight's baby (nobody will ever get what they get) and they still get their **** pushed in by teams like Alabama and Auburn who are wearing some 1940's jerseys. Athletics departments don't give a crap about retail sales or what fans want. They care about what athletic company is going to spend the most money on them and give them the most free stuff.
