Uni Combo for FAMU

Honesty not as bad as I thought it would look.

Much better than this abomination...

It's official ladies and gents. From this point forward, the orange on orange uniform combination will be known as...."The Great Pumpkin"

In related news, Adidas and the UM marketing department have reached out to Peanuts Worldwide, the entity that owns all rights to the comics by the late Charles M. Schultz to inquire about a potential collaboration. The idea is to possibly get a Peanuts Logo stitched unto the either the pants or the jerseys when we wear all orange(The Great Pumpkin look). We are also working on the possibility of wearing that combo during a yearly game played the Saturday night right before Halloween 🎃. This game is being tentatively referred to as "The Great Pumpkin Football Special" and will precede a broadcast of the iconic Charlie Brown episode.
First time I remember seeing the all
Orange look was back in ‘85 vs the Crocs. I don’t remember who it was, but one of the local Miami radio guys said, “They looked like great big pumpkins. But it was nice.”

The worst thing about it was that it looked like the jerseys and pants were two slightly different shades of orange.
😝

So, yeah, pumpkins is always what comes to mind with the orange over orange look.

You are so full of ****.

Yes, the NEW contract that adidas offered paid double the OLD Nike contract was paying. SHOCKING. Wow, this is real ground-breaking **** right here...

And, yes, Nike did not offer the adidas "high-guarantee/low-royalty" offer. Nike offered its own "low-guarantee/high-royalty" contract, due to the bull**** games Beta Blake had been playing behind the scenes (like converting the equipment allowances into cash payments, and then whining about how we didn't have new equipment).

"Nike chose not to match the offer". Hilarious. We have some of the most business-ignorant posters I've ever seen.

Miami was the FIRST IN THE COUNTRY All-Nike school. We should have remained with Nike. Had we taken the high-royalty deal, right now we would be making MORE money, in the "Fanatics Era" of sports merchandise.

But, yeah, Beta Blake wanted to build his own legacy. And lie to the Miami fanbase about what really happened.
Bro shut the **** with the tough guy act. God forbid someone disagrees with what you say on a message board. It's not that serious, but I guess if you jerk your baby **** off on CIS all day, maybe it is?

Ah the 2019 Va tech game was the last time we wore these. Jarren Williams threw 3 picks early and Perry almost led us back to a great comeback. Jeff Thomas had 2 tds that game.

Cry some more, you crybaby.

I don't give a **** if you disagree on an opinion-related matter, but you are full of **** on math and business. Good lord, what kind of absolute MORON compares a brand new contract to an old expiring contract?

Don't be mad because you were exposed as a bull****ter. Wear your shame.

Dont have a problem wearing a few differnt combos for the lesser games. The players like picking stuff like this out.

Proof that Nike has the ability to make ugly uniforms

This was a player/coaches combination. I don’t know how many times I have to explain this. Just like Ward chose the all orange; that wasn’t an Adidas move, it was a player/coaches decision.

I’m referring to the old Nike uniform picture. I was being facetious, people used to act like Nike could do no wrong

Ok, I was worried that we were going to be wearing white shoes every week and not just for the UF game because it’s showing white shoes again with the all orange uni.
Oh I hope that’s not the case. I’ve always preferred the black cleats.

Honestly, I’m not crazy about the orange/orange Clemson combo but the players get to choose these combos so it is what it is.

I still love our current uniforms and hope they never change them regardless of who’s making them.

Seriously, leave the uniforms up to the players. Not a fan of the all orange but once in a blue moon is desirable actually. What the players want is probably on par with what the recruits would like.

Maybe we'll wear a little green once or twice this year. We've got enough combos between the white, black, orange, and green to look fresh.

Don't care about a "traditional look" to be like USC or OSU or Bama. We blew that chance decades ago. 3 different unis won a Natty?

The last year of Nike really was on point.

These issues are very simple.

First, do you go with a "classic/simple" look, which we had in the 80s and most of the 90s? Or do you go with "modern/stylistic" flourishes, which we had from the late 90s into the mid-teens? Because neither choice is the province of one particular apparel company. Nike made "classic/simple" stuff for us right off the bat in the 90s, and adidas made a horrendous "modern/stylistic" jersey for us right off the bat in 2015.

Thus, it comes down to the AD and coach. Neither Nike nor adidas will make stuff for a school if the school vetoes it and/or refuses to wear it.

Second, do you go with your traditional colors in a very limited way, or do you use every possible combination of your colors (and/or a bit of black and gray)? We have almost exclusively worn some combo of orange, green, white, black and/or smoke for decades. We do not nearly have the same number of combinations that Oregon has. Does everyone like matching colors for jerseys and pants? No. But it's not offensive either. Pumpkin? Sure. Might we go pickle? Possibly.

My suspicion is that, with Mario as our coach, we will tend to stick with "classic/simple" designs and traditional color combos, more often than not.

Fact of the matter is it doesn’t matter what we think. I prefer green jerseys and white pants but I don’t get a vote. I like the orange over/under white then this all orange. I don’t like all green either.

As a Nike proponent, I can unequivocally tell u not a single poster on this board have ever echo’d those words, sentiments, including urs truly. This is like LBJ fans saying ppl act MJ was God.

What I’m merely stating is that the rhetoric surrounding the 2014 unis always point to the aforementioned combo, as if Nike put us in that abomination. That combo was all players & staff. Nike had made hideous uniforms, r u kidding me? Til this day, I don’t know what they were thinking w/ that two tone pro combat bull ****. Thank Goodness it was for a couple of games, but it was a bull **** design. Ppl don’t like the bra strap unis, I was fine w/ them, but they were hella basic, admittedly.
