Unfortunate news regarding Malek Young

View as article
The sophomore cornerback suffered a neck/vertebrae injury during the Orange Bowl and it appears as though his football career is over. Devastating for him.

Outside of brain issues, my greatest fear is anything dealing with the vertebrae/spin. That's terrifying. I hope beyond not being able to play football he'll be able to live a normal life physically. Prayers and good vibes his way. Man. Good kid too. smh

I downvoted somebody's post so they downvoted this post where I'm simply offering prayers up for Malek Young. Petty is pitiful. Seek help dude.

This is the juju we receive for those who made fun of Randy Russell's injury (if there were any).

Getting Campbell and Surtain just become x10 times more important we are without a doubt going to end up with Bethel. sigh.
You’re such a fucjing ****head it boggles the mind. Go **** yourself

Wish Malek the best. Once a Cane always a Cane. Maybe he gets a job teaching football in Miami (if that’s what he wants) or somehow working with the university. I could see Richt going to bat for him. As a coach you always want the best for your players.

I am not worried about the football ramifications of this I just hope Malek can live a healthy regular life. God speed to him and his family.

This! I wonder why it took so long for this news to come out. Finish school and go on to have a great life.

Wishing him the best and a full recovery. Cane for life. Puts in perspective the hard sport that is played by these young men for us. I know these kids love football and that is the main reason they do it, but they sacrifice a lot for that and for us as fans. The workouts, the practices, the classes, the unwanted bashing from so-called fans, the pressures from family and the risk of injury that could be the end of a life long dream. This is a lot to throw at anyone, particularly a young man. Please get that education and it's not the end of your football career. There are still a lot of roles you could play if you chose to. If not, you seem to have the will to be whatever you choose.
