Uncle Luke - All Black Players and Coaches Should Boycott FSU

Luke is right! Everyone must know how racist FSU is. I hope this kills their program.

That's probably true. Because a lot of programs from the DEEP SOUTH share similar sentiments as FSU.

Nevertheless, there's nothing like BEING PAID to play at these Deep South programs and all that. I believer y'all young school Canes refer to it as " cash bags, or is is money bags. " My generation says it's " greasing one' palm. ":zczkqmritjdsoaq.jpg:

Imma let Luke finish BUT can you maybe tell those recruits to come to Miami while you're at it? lol

Like someone said above, it's not just that the noles are putting a bad football product on the field, I think the way they are carrying themselves as a team is even worse to the powers that be up there. They simply look completely undisciplined and out of control. Saturday was a downright embarrassment on many levels.

Every time someone pulls out their race card like this, it makes the job market even harder for black coaches because you can never fire one without being labelled a racist. Who wants that headache? Every single time, from Randy Shannon, to Tie Willingham.
Disagree, respectfully. I think 99 percent of fans couldn’t argue that Shannon and Willingham didn’t deserve to be fired. They were given time and couldn’t get the job done, just like the majority of coaches at big time programs.
Personally, I thought Taggart would have a chance to make a bowl game and given until the end of the year, at least. But the play on the field spoke for itself. His team didn’t get better, but got worse.

There’s definitely some truth to it. However you want to cut. Happened to Charlie strong at Texas too..for whatever reason the leash was really really short for a guy named Charlie and a guy named wille at two historical blue bloods..

Luke trying to be relevant... its a sad sight... I'm sure there will be other to follow.

Of course, he wont mentioned Willie just got paid 18 MILLION a year for 2 years for producing zero...

I'm not sure those two are comparable, however. Those in the know painted a picture of an environment Charlie walked into in Austin that was doomed from the start. And it had a lot to do with deeply embedded racism in the powers that be there. The amount of people who openly hated the Charlie Strong hire at Texas right off the bat was pretty jaw dropping. I never at all felt that was the same for willie. People were downright jumping for joy when willie was hired, it seemed. He just produced abysmally there. Not just bad football, but a team that looks completely out of control. It's been that way every game for 2 straight seasons now. That's what caused people to turn on willie. Very different situation from what Charlie faced, IMO.

17 million to get out of a meat grinder and he will probably end up a some smaller school at a mill or two a year as a coach...he landed on his feet

So you think that it’s coincidence that African American coaches don’t get the same amount time to have success? I’m no Taggart fan but we all know that black coaches are not afforded the same opportunities as their white counterparts that’s just a fact

I think each situation is different. Do i think some get the short end? Absolutely, and especially in college where donor money, pressure and all the politics come into play. Do i think some is justifiable. Yes.

Luke compared Willie to 3 white coaches. Ok.....let's compare.

Mullen:
- No comparison....Mullen is 10x the coach. Was OC at UF during their glory years. Made Miss St relevant again. Has UF playing above their talent.
Kelly:
- UCLA is god awful right now....but they are improving the last few weeks. They beat CIS gawd Mike Leach and then beat Herm and ASU.
- Also, Chip won 10+ games in 4 straight years at Oregon (12 in 3 of those) and spent time in the NFL.
- Chip with the win.
Frost:
- He took an 0-12 UCF team to 13-0 in 2 years. Yes that's right, possibly the greatest turnaround job ever.
- Then......he went home to Nebraska, the place he starred as a QB going 24-2 and leading them to an undefeated 1997 season, the last in school history.
- Frost with the win.

Now Willie:
- Never won more than 7 games at Western Kentucky (7-5 twice)
- Won 10 games once at USF, although his team did improve each year under him (2 wins, to 4 to 8 to 10).
- Was 7-5 his 1 year at Oregon before bolting.
- Was only 5-7 his first year at FSU and only 4 wins this year.

So again, while the intent of the argument might have merit, the comparison does not. Willie has turned FSU into a joke from the outside. We've seen the Bus shtick at USF turn into the backpack shtick at FSU. We've heard about the practices and we've seen the team be undisciplined, self destruct and quit at times. There was not a person on this board who didn't want Willie to stay because we could see that program crumbling onto itself. If we could see it, the entire country could. Herbie even made reference to it. So again, in a sport with so much booster money, pressure and politics and the spotlight directly on a former football powerhouse, you can see things like this happen.

Maybe, and he was given little time, but the dude straight up sucks as a coach. If he was at least improving then maybe you give him more time but they regressed and play like little *******.

Yes, i agree Luke. As a caucasian canes fan, i feel your pain and I am outraged. This is some real fragernackel bull**** as Damon Wayans would say. All recruits should boycott now and comeon down to Miami.

We sadly need Unkle Luke on our side sadly because sadly he has pull in South Florida recruiting sadly.

I think Luke is a piece of s'hit who always has a hidden agenda, including his comments about this situation.

However, as much as it pains me to ever agree with this *******, he is right in this regard.

FSU allowed Leanord Hamilton some lead way to steer the ship in the right direction, but that's basketball. Those wealthy donors dont give a s'hit about basketball.

Football is a different story. Those same donors that paid for his buyout are the same ones that didnt want Willie there in the first place. That is why the former AD made the controversial hire and then immediately bolted afterwards.

their hate of the hire, regardless of race, was warranted. texas was 16-21 under strong with no winning seasons and a loss to ******* kansas.

I'm talking about the open hate of the hire before he ever coached a game there. Lot of smoke that the powers that be sabotaged that dude before he ever set foot on campus. But I've only heard stuff 3rd party (actually like 12th party), as I don't give a rats *** about UT football.
