Ego. It'll kill you, man.Exactly my take from the beginning. The whole thing is just weird.
Beat me to it.Someone snitched
Odds it was someone getting them back for UNC previously snitching on them?

The longer Bill lingers in football, and the more that comes out about his time with the Pats, the more I side with @DMoney that Brady was the apex differentiator there. The thing is, smashing his sons as coaches isn't the nepotism pointing that they're making it to be. Steve was the playcaller of the 2019 Patriots defense that was a top-tier-unit and carried the team into the playoffs because the offense turned into ****. Brian was a really good safeties coach as well, it wasn't that.
Making Matt Patricia an OC and Mike Lombardi as your GM, that's the issue. And that has just followed him. It's purely about him hiring his guys who follow his way. He'd rather go down his way than win with someone else's ideas.
His final season in New England, he didn't want the team to hire O'Brien as the OC. He blocked hiring further assistants and scouts, which resulted in the offensive coaching room to be divided. The OL coach in 2023 left the team after basically telling Bill and his little scouting midget named Matt Groh that they didn't supply the team with actual talent that he can coach up. He didn't tell the team in 2022 vs the Bears who would start and randomly flipped between subbing QBs in and out. He stopped speaking to Mac Jones and refused to coach him. He overruled scouts in draft decisions based on personal relationships.
After 2021, it felt like he wanted to win his way after Brady left. After 2022, it felt like he tried to sabotage everything because he was questioned in his ways.
Usually I have my fair share of doubts in regards to articles that pop up randomly and cite "inside sources".
Literally everything in here has happened in New England at some point. I could go through it in detail for the sake of laughing.
Very good point. But I do have to wonder if it was an internal source, couldn't they have gotten more dirt than just one game for one recruit? Seems like such a weak case, but that's the lawyer in me overanalyzing things.Or, as someone said in this thread or another of 2-3 UNC threads, someone within UNC snitched
And when did you become a Maude??

Re: maude, about 2 weeks ago? It's @AtlAtty 's fault; he nominated me for the job. @RF-4CCane got mauded with me too.
Hmmm...but the NCAA didn't punish them for that? Or did the original article in the thread not include it and I missed it?Players also being accused of selling their tickets which is still a no no
See what happens!

Would have been fantasticwhat a shame we don't play them this year. Mario would run up the score to the high heavens
It's weird that he decided to toil around in CFB. It's a non-stop job and one he has to learn. The guy could be off in Napa Valley or a beach somewhere having fun with his millions with his 24 y/o g/f in tow. Instead, he's tarnishing his legacy to try to prove something.
And the hits continue to keep coming…
They don’t mind hiring old dudes so Cignetti might be on the radar. That said, potential exit strategy discussions took place on Wednesday morning. That doesn't mean Belichick will be fired, but preliminary conversations about the situation and its many prongs, effects, etc., were up for discussion.
* I can note that if this were to happen, the school would prefer to do it with cause to either eliminate or cut down on any buyout. This intel comes from two conversations, but it was said that particular aspect was formally discussed. But if termination with cause and no or a minimized buyout becomes a real option, it's hard to imagine it won't be acted on.
* We have learned of another case today of a player injured in the spring who showed up to fall camp and was told he was not part of the team and could not use the facilities to rehab. This particular player received regular snaps in games last season.
* A source disclosed to TarHeel247 on Tuesday night that there are many other violations that have occurred within the UNC football program, many on the recruiting front. A second source, when asked about this, said they have heard some things of late but had no confirmation.
* When presented with what we were told about more violations, a source with significant knowledge of the power structure responded in disgust, but was not surprised.
* Opinion: As of right now, I don't think it's a lock that Belichick coaches the Cal game on Friday, Oct. 18, in Berkeley. That is 10 days away. The TarHeel247 staff has been placed on high alert, though we are confident that if something drastic happens, we will either be the first to know or will learn of it quickly. That's if something happens.
Bill probably leaking all this stuff himself to get himself fired and collect the $20+m UNC would owe him.
Yep. That's a exactly what's happening at this point.Bill probably leaking all this stuff himself to get himself fired and collect the $20+m UNC would owe him.
