UNC vs USCe

My nightmare, worst-case scenario from early August after that scrimmage - terrible offensive line, terrible quarterback play and frequent turnovers, basically a repeat of last year - has us losing to North Carolina this week:

(L) 03-34 Florida
(L) 14-21 @ North Carolina
(W) 28-21 Boston College
(W) 21-10 Central Michigan
(W) 13-10 @ Virginia Tech
(L) 10-24 Virginia
(W) 28-03 Georgia Tech
(L) 17-34 @ Pittsburgh
(L) 13-28 @ Florida State
(W) 35-10 Louisville
(L) 23-24 FIU
(W) 17-10 @ Duke

The best case scenario had us 12-0 going into the ACC title game.

After seeing that sieve of an offensive line, this UNC game has me a lot more concerned now then a few hours ago.

We don’t play Boston college you moron.

How the **** do you make that **** up when you've been coaching for 800 years like Mack Brown? They'll probably still hold on but holy crap

He's a fantastic CEO and very good recruiter. Similar in some respect to Butch Davis or latter-era Bobby Bowden. But that's all. He's not devising defensive or offensive strategies. And without a franchise quarterback (V Young, C McCoy) he's not going to fare well against a similarly talented or more talented team. He went 4-2 against the Sooners with those two quarterbacks, and 2-7 without them (but in almost all cases, with a strong remainder of the roster). I live in Texas and I've seen his career there play out in real time.

Brown "recruited" well because there is no team in the country that can spend as much money buying players as Texas. You saw same thing with Richt at UGA, when bag men were giving him help, he looked like an elite recruiter. Not so much at Miami. UNC bags go to basketball, not football. Brown's recruiting rep is vastly inflated by basically having a blank check at Texas.
