Actually, you know what. There is hate. I hate the current state of the program and this corching staff. Make that the last 15 years of disgrace that I've hated.

Your hatred for Butch is remarkable. You just love to bring him up and you're so sure of yourself that he would have failed here while supporting the failures that have come after him. Truly remarkable. I guess some people are just content with being an embarrassment.

Florida looked like crap when they played us, they did not bring their a game
Cmu was dropping passes left and right, that was not an a game

Maybe we just aren’t that good and teams don’t need their a games to beat us bc we rarely bring our a game

And I've said that Clemson were looking ahead to their bye week. They got outcoached and outplayed. But great teams find ways to win.

I don't hate Butch. I'm a 25 year plus season ticket holder who supported Butch through all the boos, banners and unimaginable bad play for years, regardless of how many scholarships were lost.

What I hate is dinosaurs like you who have inexplicable selective memory of what transpired here the first 5 years he was here and only remember year six and all the #1 draft picks.

One game into this staff's season you and your cult you were already taking **** about Manny. You rag about Baxa but forget Dane Prewitt making 5 of 12 field goals Butch's first year. You mock the false starts and forget the mind numbing penalties our teams put up every week under him. Everything that's happening with this program today was on display every week for YEARS here under your messiah. Sloppy, disorganized, horrific clock management were the norm. That's a HUGE part of why the banners flew and the boos rained down.

But you gloss past all of it and only drone on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about year six. Not game six, year six.

What's pathetic is blindly supporting a coach especially a coach who should have never been hired in the first place (which is why I hate the administration and BOT more than Manny. Their level of incompetence knows no bound). That's the worst kind of fan.

I gave him a chance but all signs point to him being another failure. Exhibit A: Assembling a G5 level staff filled with his friends. What positive are you seeing? Blowing out a high school team? What's killing me even more is comparing him to Dabo to justify this patience BS. There is NO comparison between the two. Years of watching corches allows you to spot a corch.

A team with TWENTY THREE SENIORS.

He opens with two ranked teams in four weeks and with that roster he somehow manages to lose 3 of them by a combined score of 85-32.

As for the rest of the season, he gets to 8 wins, inculding a 17-16 win over 2-9 Pitt and a 17-14 win over 4-8 Boston College and a 17-12 win over 5-6 West Virginia.

So the guy on your avatar loses three of his first four by a combined 53 points and has three wins over teams that go a combined 11-23 by a total of 9 points gets six seasons to prove himself.

Go, I agree with you. And while the 1995 Canes had issues, to have them get destroyed by UCLA (a team that barely went .500) in the opener was unprecedented for post Schelly Canes football.

And I recognize that logic from another certain site.

Yes, I gave him a chance. Try to keep up. I bought into this TNM shlt. Ignored how green our staff were during the offseason. Didn't blame him much for the UiF game even though he trotted out one of the most unprepared team in recent memory. Even after how much he preached about the details during the offseason. UNC, I've seen enough. This was a corch. As the weeks went by, the more hollow his words sounded. Sure, he might be aware of the problems the team faces but he sure as **** doesn't know how to fix it. This is a guy in over his head.

Believe it or not, I was patient with Butch. I knew he was qualified and trusted him. Super bowl winning DC and he pretty much recruited JJ's team.
Turns out I was right in my patience with him.

Manny on the other hand, is the least qualified coach to have coached here. You don't get much leeway with Manny's qualifications. I'm not seeing a Butch situation here. This is Shannon/Golden all over again. I was right with those two bozos and we'll see in 2-3 years with Manny.

And kinda like how you're 100% sure Butch would have failed if he had come back? And once again, the only embarrassment is Canes fans that accept this embarrassment.

Here's a few clips from Clemson coordinators at their post game press conference. It seems they give UNC credit where credit is due....

— On the false starts: "We go up to Syracuse and didn't have those issues, so we felt like we were going to be in good shape. It's tough on those guys sometimes especially when they're stemming and moving. I think you've got to give UNC credit. They were making some move calls and moving right before the snap. And when you're on the silent count, you don't know when the ball is going to be snapped."

Before the sanctions, after Butch got blown out by 50 in his first three meetings against FBS teams, with that stacked roster, you were still sure.

When they were eeking out a 1 point win against 2-9 Pitt with a team that had won three titles in the previous nine years, you understood.

When in game 10, the team that was preseason #12 is struggling to beat 5-6 Boston College at home by 5 points, you sat in the OB and thought "I'm gonna be patient. This is my guy."

Lol. That quote refers to effort and playbook availability. CMU didn't hold back certain plays to "Save against a conference opponent" and neither did UF. The players also gave maximum effort instead of half assing. UNC did as well.

UF looked like it was Game 1 for them, and CMU dropped passes cuz their WR's wouldn't start on mostly any P5 squad.
