Our offense did the same and our D never gave up 4 straight scores. The defense may falter, but it doesn't completely collapse. Syracuse's D collapsed in the 2nd half even after Howell gift wrapped them a FG.

Howell is a good player but it’s obvious that even teams who brought back a ton of talent on offense are struggling to get the kinks out early. I’m watching Notre Dame go three and out on every possession against Duke and they’re also loaded with returning starters on offense. It’s gonna take a bit for a lot of these offenses to click on all cylinders

Syracuse was expected to have one of the worst defenses in the league and are breaking in a new DC. Our defense, not so much. You realize how many games we loss last year because the offense couldn’t score lol? You’re comparing this to a game where we scored 31 points and Cuse scored 6?

We lost games but the defense didn't fold in spite of the offense. And I was moreso referring to last year, not our game against UAB. Your original statement "Cuse defense played a lot better than the score will suggest with this one" is correct for the first half, they then proceeded to give up 24 straight points in the second.

Yes, late in the 3rd and in the 4th.

Cuse defense was tired and worn out.

Their offense was 4-19 on 3rd down. Did we expect them to pitch a shutout? Of course, the defense eventually broke after getting no support from its offense. I’m not sure what you’re even pushing at this point.
