Not really surprised how underwhelming they are. Part of the reason why they were so hyped this year is because they beat out their extremely low expectations last year. Every team is going to have Week 1 issues, but for #18 in the country they look bad.
 
OL has zero push, and the pocket collapses almost instantaneously. Howell is a major talent, but his inconsistency and terrible OL play would make any QB look bad.

I think D’Eriq King would walk in for two rushing TDS if this game was being played against us with the same scenarios.

He’s a former WR with WR speed and shiftiness.

if we played this exact game Syracuse is playing......as bad as they’ve looked they’d be up 14-to 7 on UNC with a D’Eriq King type QB.

That’s the small differences elite QBs make. Instead it’s a 6-7 game for the orange

Richt said on ACC Network before our game on Thursday night that he felt UNC was being over-hyped. He said they were only 7-6, and that everyone focused on the fact they lost a few close ones. But they also won a few close ones (e.g., 4th and 17).

I'm with him. DCs and defenses know what they've got with that team now, and they've had a lot of time to diagnose Howell. He's going to have a sophomore slump.

Sometimes these teams "on the ascent" just top out and inevitably start to slide back down. Also, the guy at QB two years ago was a tough dude who made plays.

Kinda reminds me of us in 2017, albeit they didn't get close to how well we played that year. Last year that got a lot of lucky bounces and breaks. Should've lost to us, and South Carolina blew a lead against them.
 
Unc has the same OC QB WRs and they don’t look good. We have new everything and our offense looked solid
 
UNC should still beat Syracuse by some margin.

But nothing is normal rn.

Completely agree, and we were running a vanilla as **** offense. When we opened it up for a few drives in the 3Q, we started moving the ball and scoring quickly. Not to mention King missed a few easy throws. Once he get's in a rhythm we'll be good.
