UNC Massively Underperformed Week 1

UNC is the same as always. Good offense and bad defense.
Thats what I saw, skill positions look like they can play on offense, 5 star qb from good pedigree making first start throws for 5 tds in open qb friendly system, freshman rb tryna make a splash (sad face).. Defense looked suspect.. yikes

Yup rinse and repeat for them.

our team's coaching and preparation are completely different this year with a very-talented returning QB. UNC has the same coaching and preparation with C. Gaynor at center and new QB.

…I like our chances.

FAMU had a ton of drops, too. They should have had well above 300 yards passing. UNC looked like dog doo.

They lost Grimes early in that game. And supposedly FAMU player who was cutting them up is getting NFL looks
Every fcs team has a guy getting nfl looks and one guy going down is not an excuse for them but a win is a win and it was week zero

Almost the entire game.

We should win by 10+ at home, but obviously that’s not how sports work. They’re a thorn in our side

I mean with Manny, ole clappy, and radio as your coaches of course they are. Meanwhile they had butch Davis and such with the refs constantly backing them.

Unc is not a rival to this university, it just seems that way due to joke job coaching staffs like fat Albert. Any of our above average coaches would be throttling them.

I'm tires of hearing about these guys who haven't sniffed a national championship in +300 years. We've blitzed them out of the building a few times with bad everything, including administration. This should be one of Mario's chief priorities is blowing these **** stains out of the water up till we finally leave this pathetic conference.

As a proud FAMU alum...UNC absolutely didnt take that game serious at all. Especially after the news of 25 FAMU players being ineligible. They slept walk. But im proud FAMU took the fight to them. Didnt back down.

That said, UNC looks about the same as they did last year. Not very good. We should have beat them last year. No reason why we shouldnt destroy them this year. Opening line is UM -7. Which tells you all you need to know because that seems high but Vegas is not high on UNC at all.
I think this is what really happened here. Not taking anything away from FAMU, they played their hearts out, but UNC was just going through the motions. Probably scaled back the playbook at bit as well with a brand new QB starting his first game.
It's hard to get a true measure of a team with games like this in the first week, with that said don't see UNC improving from their 6-6 2021 campaign.
UNC will have a real test this week against App State at Boone.

Actually could have looked worse. FAMU QB threw a pick just before half in their half of the field and UNC scored a touchdown

Coach Hayes said from a coaching perspective UNC didn't do anything exotic and played vanilla on D. Ran cover 3 the whole game. His assessment was that Mack was being respectful to FAMU situation. 🤷‍♂️

It’s honestly frustrating struggling with UNC like we have the past couple of years and allowing them to recruit well in the Carolina’s and Northern Virginia area…
