My guess is Diaz would have replaced Lashlee with a similar OC. Doubtful he'd go back to stone age football. And I don't think he was worse with the portal than Cristobal. Not an endorsement of Diaz. The right move would have been for Cristobal to continue the one thing that seemed to work under Diaz - the spread offense and get the most out of the current roster while recruiting players more suited to the style he wanted.

Diaz was doomed to fail this year. No competent OC would attach themselves to Lameduck Diaz.

None of those dlinemen transfer come here either. We would’ve likely promoted from within regarding OC.
