UNC extends Mack Brown

Mack may not be the best coach ever but he’s exactly what unc wants out of their football program. Generates excitement and buzz. Sells tickets and is good politically with the boosters.
Yup. Not gonna lie, he's been crushing it there. Getting elite talent from the area, developing QBs/skill guys, and winning some games. Exactly like Richt was for us. An instant jolt of energy, an adult in the room who can raise funding, and a coach whose won on the biggest stage. One key advantage is Mack doesn't call plays and is just the CEO.

Similar to when Mitch was there......

Or the guy before him. Since joining the ACC, UNC has always given us a hard time.

Sadly, with that 5-600 rushing yards debacle last year ANY poster on here, except for 1 or 2, could've played QB for UNC that day

For the mopes in this thread, we are talking about UNC football. Their realistic goal is not to win NC's, its to be competitive and to win more than their share of games, which they have done.

Mack is a great CEO for them- he has energized their fan base, engaged their boosters in a major way, dramatically upgraded the talent on the football team, etc. He has embarrassed his biggest competitor in the Coastal in back to back years and gave Clemson a battle.

And if they get rid of Mack, who would they get?

You don’t think the current power at Miami, who is 5x champion and held arguably the most dominating dynasty in CF history, has the same standards? When Díaz wins 8 games with this team and soft schedule, they will extend him, as well.

Big uptick in their recruiting as well. They aren't fading away anytime soon. Good extension on their part, even if only for the optics.

Dont think so tbh, he may not get fired, but its unlikely he will get extended after an 8-4 season.
