UNC Athletics shuts down

I for one am absolutely shocked. I mean making college kids stay inside all summer and now that they’re back at school they want to party and gather in crowds, who could’ve predicted that?

This shouldn’t change sports. The bubble system works. If your players can’t abide by those rules and the rest of the team suffers, oh well. It’s the same as getting suspended. When the season comes and teams have to forfeit games or play backups, it’ll hit them.

ATHLETICS SHUTDOWN EXTENDED AT UNC

Statement from UNC Athletics spokesman: "We will again not be practicing tomorrow (Friday) as we are extending the temporary suspension of all athletic related activities through tomorrow, Friday, August 21st. We will continue to work with the University to evaluate the situation."

UNC football was scheduled to have a strength and condition session on Friday.

Can someone explain what shutting down 24 hours does? As well as moving football to spring. Does the virus magically Go away after period of time

Are they waiting on test results for the team? Athletic department? I don't get it either... Why not just isolate athletics from the general population?

It’s like only a handful of teams that care about the football season have protocols in place since April, Miami included, that have worked.

im not claiming to be an epidemiologist but it seems like some teams are making it work, then it’s blatantly evident some teams don’t give a **** like FSU or unc
