Dapper is using data from DoE site for athletic reporting budgets. http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/GetOneInstitutionData.aspx
Problem is there is little to no detail on the mix of revenue and expenses. Nor is there uniformity in one athletic department accounting practice to another. Its like comparing two companies with similar revenues but no idea what their gross margins or operating profits really are.
Couple good article discussing athletic dept budgets:
http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2011/08/22/In-Depth/Budgets.aspx
http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...orts-profits-money-schools-revenues-subsidies
Here is the USA Today Database: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/schools/finances/
* I didnt see UM listed there as they are not required to report much more than general expense numbers.
