Its like theyre punishing him for sliding...he started his slide at the 25(?) And they put it at the 27. Started his slide at the 1st down line and they put it a yard back

He isn't going to at that size - run behind your blocks, juke / outrun guys in the open field and run through arm tackles. That'll be his game.

He ain’t just anyone either, maybe one guy VS NC state. He ain’t busting big runs either or outrunning guys. He has vision, but that’s about it. Juking guys who get a hand on you or spinning is still breaking tackles.

I think actually the will should be if a QB slides you spot the ball 1 yard prior to where they begin the slide. You want to protect QBs while preventing late slides.
