UM - Pat Forde article

Word is, lil Richt hates Malik (not personally) and has continuously lobbied for Perry to get pt from the start. Not defending lil Richt, but Malik would make any qb coach look bad.

Anyway, I agree w the post regardless. I get the feeling Richt would resign rather than fire his own son. From his mentor Bobby to Lou Holtz, these coaches will tell you one of their biggest regrets was firing their progeny.
It doesn’t matter who plays between Rosier and Perry. It’s a choice better Bad and Worse. Neither of them are P5 QB’s and that’s Lil Richts fault.

When Richt was hired I hoped this would be the impetus to a fantastic finish to what was a very good coaching career. An avenue to really seal his legacy with storied last chapter.

Instead, UM has just become a retirement annuity for him

It is what it is

We're stuck in Richtbation

The upshot:

Blake James hinted at changes when speaking to The Athletic after the game: “We need to get better now, and I know Mark and our coaches are aware of that and I’m confident they will make the changes needed to put us in the best position to win our remaining games.”

Article also mentions the QB coach being a detriment and the obvious lack of offensive scheming.

Yet, the Orange and Green glaring REALITY suggests that Junior will continue be Miami's QB coach come next season! Just U wait and see. :youre-nuts: hUh.

Matter of fact, I lay " even money " odds that Junior is on the practice field come next Spring!

Perry is absolutely a P5 QB if put in the proper offensive scheme which allows him to be relatively successful!

Exactly, I dong get why people call Perry garbage. He doesn’t have a big enough sample size and is operating under Richts system

He was the 3rd ranked dual threat QB coming out of high school. It’s disingenuous to suggest that he is not a P5 QB but it’s clear that he would benefit from some better coaching and more creative play calling. We haven’t really seen a large enough sample size to write him off, IMO.

Ouch, that said something is definitely off with Richt, not sure if he's disinterested or regretful of taking the job in the first place, but he sure doesn't seem like the same guy from last year. Granted he's never been a rah-rah type, but the total lack of emotion and even interest seems pretty evident.

His preparation and maturity is garbage. But he's a natural QB with great arm talent, feel, and athleticism. At this point it's clear as day he should be the guy, at least for now, based on who the other options available are. We just have to hope the kid matures into the role and takes it to heart. Either way, next season he'll have to deal with Williams.

Agreed. There is absolutely ZERO tangible evidence that Richt or anyone can put forward to justify starting Malik. I’m enraged

I think Richt will make the correct decision on QB.

He’s got 2 weeks of game film and 2 weeks of L’s to show #12. It’s not personal. In fact, he gave #12 every chance to take/keep the job.

It’s over. Time to move on.

Where we go is the major question. 2 immature 2nd-year QBs and a true frosh is not an ideal scenario.
i think you're giving Richt too much credit for making the correct decisions...he's had over a year and a half of game film and continues to roll out #12 stating," he gives us the best chance to win." The L's continue to come and he refuses to give game reps to guys who will be battling for the job next season. He will roll with #12 no matter what others advise; he's just that stubborn, while continuing to place blame on execution over scheme and play calling.

He can’t read a defense to save his life and doesn’t have the work ethic to improve!

Richt is loyal and really has no reason to state he’s gonna make an overhaul at this point even though that is what everyone wants him to say. He won’t let anyone go or make a scheme change at this point in the season. His coaches have families too. I know this is a ***** take but just hold off until the end of the season. If no changes are made quickly then pull out the pitchforks.

Don't worry fellas, Coach Richt will get things turned around eventually..

Mork will find out real quick this isn't Georgia. I hope he didn't get comfortable cause it's going to get real ugly

"We need to get better. I’m confident we have the guy to do that. Again, as I’ve said numerous times over the last few weeks, he’s our coach. He knows we have to get better. I know we have to get better. I’m going to talk to him about how we can get better, what I can do about supporting his efforts to get better, because at the end of the day that’s the expectation of the University of Miami football program.”

That was our AD in Dec 2014.

MR already giving back the proverbial FU to the criticism by naming Rosier the starter for Duke...it's getting ugly next Saturday, and rightfully so.
