UM - Pat Forde article

Word is, lil Richt hates Malik (not personally) and has continuously lobbied for Perry to get pt from the start. Not defending lil Richt, but Malik would make any qb coach look bad.

Anyway, I agree w the post regardless. I get the feeling Richt would resign rather than fire his own son. From his mentor Bobby to Lou Holtz, these coaches will tell you one of their biggest regrets was firing their progeny.

I agree. Jon has a kid now too. Mark isn't about to send his son & grandkid away.

Said this before but if firing Jon is off the table I think Patke needs to be the guy who goes. Not even because he's done anything wrong. Just that.. He's been on staff for 1 year & Manny has already done Patke's job without issue. I'd move Jon to special teams coach & hire a QB coach/offensive coordinator. Maybe ST is where Jon excels.

Its really the only way Richt can keep his son on staff & hire an OC.

Ha.. So we might as well be prepared for 0 staff changes.

It's a 50% chance we don't win one game left on the schedule. I think both Pitt and Duke are toss ups that we should win but ya never know. With GT finding a QB that can run, that is going to be one long game. And VT, we should stomp them, but this is Miami and its at Blacksburg.

The pressure is on

I pray he starts Rosier again against Duke. It will get as ugly as Golden's last year

Yes sir. It’s official! The pressure is officially on now. No more being “comfortable” in the position. All eyes on you

What a sad commentary on our QB coaching that Richt said Rosier gives us the best chance for a win. Especially sad if the QB's can't grasp 5 offensive plays, especially knowing that 1st down is up the middle for 1 yard...

If Richt is so **** bent on keeping Jon around than make him an offensive analyst. Bring in an OC that Jon can learn from to help with his development as a coach. And if Junior doesn't want said demotion than he can go find another job elsewhere. Kid needs to learn that when you aren't getting the job done someone else is brought in to do it better.

Y'all are missing the bigger picture. Once the offensive issues are fixed, there will be something else to take it's place. Special teams, coaching turnover, scandal whatever soup dejour that can be created. Bookmark this post.

The most frustrating part is the lack of accountability from Richt, especially in the post game comments.

"Hats off to [insert team we should have beaten], they put up a tough fight and got the job done. We didn't execute like we should have and we know we have a lot of work to do. We're just going to regroup and get ready for [next team we should also beat]" blablablablabla

From the article-

These Hurricanes have taken on the personality of Richt, which is likely giving Georgia fans flashbacks. His postgame analysis of Miami’s energy and effort landed somewhere between naïve and disingenuous, as Miami had more talent and got pushed around, out-schemed and outhustled all night. From the moment Miami got off the bus, they showed few signs they wanted to be there.

“I thought the guys fought hard and were excited about playing, and they played with a lot of heart and a lot of spirit to the very end,” Richt said. “When it went to zero, they stopped fighting, that’s a good sign for us.”

Richt has either become delusional or just DGAF anymore.

One of the many problems is having an “OC” in Brown that is essentially Richt’s water boy. Duggans the only other option to hand playcalling duties to at this point, if that were to even happen. Giving the duties to Brown would be more of the same, Richt’s offense is all that dude knows.

Perry got no playing time last week even when Rosier was stinking up the joint. He’ll start Rosier next week.

IF he does give up play calling duties, it has to be someone from outside the team. A whole different scheme. If Brown and Dugans can’t live with that and end up leaving, so be it. I would love to keep them but we aren’t going to win with our current structure.

We have a lot of big issues but the biggest ones are QB coaching, OC play calling and Ofensive Line coaching and as a consequence our recruiting will become trash like the previous staff. Richt post game comments were stupid at best

I wouldn't bring myself to listen to any of that drivel for fear of breaking something I cared about. Can you summarize what he said? Or was it the same nonsense about the playcalling being fine, lack of execution, same plays have worked for 30 years, etc.?

I think Richt will make the correct decision on QB.

He’s got 2 weeks of game film and 2 weeks of L’s to show #12. It’s not personal. In fact, he gave #12 every chance to take/keep the job.

It’s over. Time to move on.

Where we go is the major question. 2 immature 2nd-year QBs and a true frosh is not an ideal scenario.

He already made the wrong decision on qb. It was over and time to move a while ago.

Just went 3 years and the quarterbacks were not developed, not one iota of development

Anyone thinking that switching out a few position coaches will do anything is delusional.

We aren’t winning with Richt as HC - we’ll have to deal with it.

The Patke hire cemented who Richt is for me. A loser with a good moral compass. Anti-Butch Davis

The HC position for Mark Richt = Well Paid Retirement. If he ever had it, he lost it long long ago.
