Cheating in recruiting & cheating in game preparation aren't the same thing.
Michigan knew their opponents plays, not by film study & picking up tendencies, they knew through illegal spying & scouting.
It's the equivalent of if FSU sent a staffer to infiltrate Miami's practices, stole a copy our playbook & illegally filmed all our audibles. Then used that information to beats us 49-0.
They had a completely unfair competitive advantage & was the primary reason why they won a Championship.
They are the biggest frauds in modern college football history.

Dejaz...in no way am I defending Meeeesheeeegahn.
But I'm also in no way defending Bama, Jawga, LSWhoo and others who poached SoFL talent away from Miami with bags. They did it to everyone to stack 5* like cord wood on their rosters along with blue and grey shirt techniques.
I'm paraphrasing Edge James in that fateful interview (I think with CMR), you can't blame the players for playing tbe game.
It's all degree of cheating at this point, Harbaugh was just willing to take it yo another level.
