UM (Michigan) in big trouble ?

One bright side to this episode — besides Michigan getting dragged through the mud — is that it won't happen again.

Bet my last $5 that P5 schools (at minimum) will go to one-way helmet communication next season
They already planned to test it in bowl games, this is just going to push it even more.

I graduated HS with Chris Partridge played ball with him hung out a few times at his house. So I’m jaded, but he’s a **** of a recruiter and really wanted him on staff.

Harbaugh has accepted 2 suspensions this season

They fired Connor Stallions & now fired Chris Partridge...

Any of you Michigan lovers care to explain why such a high integrity rules abiding upstanding honest & forthright program is doing all of this while being innocent???

No clue, but if Michigan does not receive major penalties (vacate wins, lose schollies, etc.), then it was worth it.

IDGAF about being classy. I do care about winning. And if we need a scumbag like Meyer, Harbaugh, etc. to get it done, so be it.

The premise of your question is flawed. Is the NCAA and conference rules enforced in a completely unbiased and equitable manner? Is Michigan imposing a a conference level penalty any different than a team giving up Coastal Division Championship on the flawed premise on punishing itself to placate an NCAA...Which broke so many rules and even bedrock legal ethics (see Perez, Elena) to enforce it's "authority?"

Divide and conquer is the NCAA way of keeping in power and now they use bludgoning Michigan as their latest foil...Strangely, after hammering USC, OSU, Miami, and now Michigan, most SEC schools and selected other institutions (UNC) have gotten away with no investigations or comically lenient (Tennessee) penalties from Mark Emmert (Mr. LSU) and now Charlie Baker in control? What, Charlie Baker is a Harvard Man and will be above board...Yeah, Google Oscar Health and all the SEC states it operates in...Sankey was hired as Slive's fixer in 2002 and he will have the dirt necessary to keep the SEC clean.

Don't feed the demon.

They know they are ****ed, which is why they dismissed this case with prejudice. Meaning they can never bring the case back against the Big Ten again.

rumblings are the NCAA is coming after them for the lack of institutional control on a broader sense

bet.

Innocent people who have proof of their innocence do not acquiesce to unfair punishment.

You know who accepts punishment? People who know they are guilty & are trying to do all they can to lessen the degree in which they’re punished. In criminal law, it’s called taking a plea deal.

Michigan's lawyers advised them to take the punishment because the evidence that would have been presented and/or the judge signaling how he was leaning would have made the eventual punishment and/or public humiliation much worse.
