UM Head Coach is now a $4m/year Job

All this hire confirms is that the AD is a figurehead position at Miami and that the multi millionaire BOT members and their political cronies run the program. Blake James got his balls cut off in front of the country yesterday and not one reporter is curious as to how this ridiculous turn of events occurred. If James had any self respect he'd resign, but he won't because he needs his paycheck for being a fund raiser.

I wish Manny well, but he has no business coaching this team at this point in his career. It's not a risk a serious power 5 school would take.
That’s because Miami isn’t a serious power five school anymore. Winning is just a word to keep fans interested. It’s not taken seriously. It’s like when a politician promises something just to get votes

You made claim, burden of proof on you. Logic 101 (yes, core engineering course)

We agree that neither of us know whether that was the school or Bichts doing

Uh, no--you made the claim that UM has now set the bar at 4 mil for a HC.

I'm simply saying that that 4 mil went to Richt as both HC and OC. It doesn't matter if that was how that BOT/Blake drew it up, or if Richt demanded it that way, or whatever. The fact remains that we paid Richt 4 mil to fill the roles of both HC and OC.

He hasn't proven in three years that he can consistently land the highly-rated guys in the trenches, which is something we should be worried about. We are obviously struggling to land sought after recruits on the OL and at DT. The elites are stacked with these guys and the teams you mentioned along with UGA are killing us in these recruiting battles. We are light years away in many aspects compared to the Bamas and Clemsons of the world. I have serious doubts that this hire is going to close the gap.

Agreed. Manny needs to make this 1A/1B, along with hiring a competent and forward thinking offensive staff.

We need to play the game the same way that bama and clemson play it, both on the field and off the field. That means it's time to start dropping bags, establishing a UM athletics "foundation", and getting with the 21st century of recruiting and stacking chips.

That's not a "claim"

The fact is, through yesterday, UM HC salary was $4mil
The school set that bar, not me.

This is your claim
Again, that ignores the fact that we paid Richt 4 mil without an OC, and with a lot of scrubs as assistants.
Your claim is the school suppressed pay for Bicht's staff. Present your evidence; I've already debunked the "no OC" one, that was purely Bicht's doing, NOT the school

Oklahoma
UGA (Rick was making 4 mil at UGA at time of termination, then hired Smart at 3.75 mil)
Clemson- Swinney hired for 900k in 2009, Bowden was making at least 2.25 mil
LSU (Miles to Orgeron)
UCF (frost 2 mil, Heupel 1.7 mil)

Elite company
Dabo wasn't even a coordinator when he was hired, was he?

Since I have CoaRching experience at the youth level for 2 years can I apply for the QB/WR assistant coach position, I hear I can be co offensive coordinator in year or two. I promise I will bring in a belicheck type mentality to the team with deflated footballs and a headset signal jammer...
Over qualified

I think WR coach/recruiting coordinator. So even less accomplished than Diaz. Was even out of football for awhile working as a real estate agent.
Only hope that Manuel learned what dumb stuff to not do the last few years here and at his previous stops. The U is a potential Gold Mine if he treats it right

Dabo - first full season 9-5 --- second full season was 6-6...... in other works Richt had more wins the last 2 years than Dabo's first 2 years

Manny Diaz is the best $4mil/year head coach available for UM, in the country?

Doubt he's getting 4 million as an annual salary.

I would though like to know if he'll be doing Back Flips from the high board next recruiting cycle.
