UM alums doing big things...

I will if it's well deserved...

Yes. It's well deserved to bash a guy that is an alum, was a player (with a ring), was an assistant (with a ring) and was an HC.

Meanwhile, you bought a 'Canes t-shirt in 1993 and that sums up your contributions to the program.

If Willie would've played for Jimmy or Butch he may be considered one of the best college backers ever. But I'm sure people with think I been drinking or some dumb ****.
If Williams never transferred i believe he would of been alright.he left after his rs freshman year witch he got some playing time.i agree that onion wasn't the best coach.but he should of stayed a least 1 more year.super talented player

Without causing an issue, you got no clue how onion would fvck with him and the **** he put up with. Was alot deeper than football. Kid just wanted to play

A T-Shirt??....Ive spent quadruple what you've spent..if not more...including over $80,000 towards my Sons Education at UM (2008 Grad).....The $$$ I spent in Airfare alone while my cousin was on staff...flying from Pensacola Airport to MIA far exceeds anything your *** has spent...and that was from 95-2000...while raising a family in Ft Walton Bch Fl at the same time....Not to mention the 200+ games I attended including 2 NCs....My entire home is literally covered in Signed UM Memorabilia....Footballs....11 signed Jerseys...and a Custom Made UM Bar....Know who tf your talking to before running your mouth....

Next step is another crack at head coach.
Not gonna lie. By the title of this thread I was hoping for more OT material. Maybe something like a cabal of recent Saudi, Chinese and Venezuelan UM grads were caught running a multi-billion dollar arms racket supplying both Iran and Israel from a Brickell condo.
No ****! I must have missed that.

Is this Iran-Contra 2.0?

Actually our OL played far worse....
They played a team with a really good DL. A few NFL players on that Buckeye DL, IIRC.

Over-confidence seems to be Cane kryptonite. Tennessee 85 Sugar Bowl, Penn State 86 Fiesta Bowl, Alabama 92 Sugar Bowl, Ohio State 02 Fiesta Bowl. Those were excellent teams, but had Miami played with a chip on their shoulder, like the 90 Texas Cotton Bowl, The U would have a few more NC trophies.

I recall JJ once saying the toughest part of his job was keeping teams from getting overconfident. When you’re enjoying nothing but success it’s difficult to remember how hard you have to work to stay there. Success becomes expected, not earned.

Willie Williams clearly had issues deeper than football. Sadly, he appears to have never had anyone mentor him into becoming a good man. People were only interested in his freakish skills on the football field. A complicated, cautionary, and tragic tale.

Onion hadfans, and many Miami ex players, and alumni in his corner.
The problem was his personality never acknowledged anyone including the Admin, BOT, or Golden Canes.
His style was leave me the Fu** alone, and let me Coach.
When he needed someone in his corner, no one showed up.
Good guy but because of his **** personality he sunk his own ship, and never recovered.

I might sound like the most outrageous conspiracy theorist ever but I have learned that the ‘03 Fiesta Bowl swindle (aka 6th National Championship), Donna Shalala (think that high level, Federal) /Randy Shannon’s hiring and entire tenure, Sean Taylor’s murder (consider it was a hit, not some random kids), and the demise (and SIXTEEN 👀 long years struggle) of UM football are all a part of a plot against the University of Miami’s football program.

In fact, it’s so deep that it continues all the way up until now with Ahmmon Richard’s career ending injury (because he was too good)... I know I sound crazy as **** but that’s what I’ve learned. And that’s all I know.

I can take a good punch so don’t worry about my feelings... **** sounds stupid to even post but it’s true.

He could've been our Bud Foster; an elite DC for life here.

But...Larry Coker getting fired changed things.

In life, you try to get out of your comfort zone and try something new; that's how you find your boundaries as a person.

As a HC, was not very good. As a DC, he had a pretty **** good body of work when he was here. He probably would've been okay had he got a great offensive coordinator....which he didn't.

Same with Al Golden and the defense. If Golden had an excellent defensive coordinator, we may very well still have him as our coach.

Puked when I heard he became the DC for Florida. But you got to make your money. End of story.

Amy issues he had I won't get into on here. At the end of the day though it's not his issues that kept him from having success.

You'd think after knowing you for 25yrs, I'd listen to you in ref to arguing with some of these clowns...but not my argumentative ***.....Now I have some Clown CashMoneyCane, telling me the only $$$ I've spent towards UM was a T-Shirt in 1993...Lol...
