All I heard is "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." He's just saying what he needs to say to keep the distractions to a minimum. If we lose the next 3 which are a very real possibility, he'll have to fire Al or at least announce he's gone at the end of the season.

Mcelwain Was hired by Dec 4th, Uf last game was Nov 30th. I am sure Foley only spent 5 days on the process. Riiiiiiiiiiiight!

UF announced Muschamp's firing on November 16, but it would be effective at the end of the season. They had about 3 weeks to find a guy.

You're talking about a set of decision makers that deemed it a good idea to retain a coach who lost SEVEN games in his FOURTH full year. You all of a sudden expected these guys to get smart and proactive?

i'm pretty sure they can contact butch. it's only an issue if the coach is actually employed by another team.
 
Let's look at this logically, you have a team that has 6 players drafted into the NFL that finishes with a 6-7 record; the returning team clearly does not have as much talent, yet you allow the coach to keep his job and expect the team to have a better record. (not to mention the incoming recruiting class was not even top 20)

Obviously any person that thinks this way does not have an IQ with three digits or is mentally ill suffering delusions of grandeur, therefore, they should be institutionalized.

There is no way the he should be allowed to hire the next coach, his only prior experience was being the AD at the University of Maine, where apparently intelligence or mental illness is not a factor.

The Turds spoke to McElwain and hired him while he was still employed at Colorado State. It's a question of getting permission from the team that the coach is working for.

I look at that remark as nothing more than "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." If we're 3-5 on November 1st, don't be surprised if he comes out and says Al is gone after the end of the season. It lets us get a hard start on the coaching staff. Just like the Turds did last season.
