Was fortunate to be at practice.....incredible zip on the ball, but one hard hit from a big lineman and he might be done for the year. Needs to put on weight and muscle, but again, that zip is incredible.
Anything else about practice overall? lol

That was the biggest and most in shape Canes team I have ever seen. Cantwell is what, 6:8 350, and the other OL were not small next to him. The skill position players all bulked up, but in a good way.

It was great to see the position coaches do their thing.

Mensah is the real deal, very nice touch and placement.

A lot of the "veterans" didnt play much, but multiple freshmen looked really good, as did some veterans that have not had a chance to play, like Ryan Mack.

Josh Moore now has an NFL body, and is much improved.

Practice was choreographed down to the second, extremely efficient.

Baby Jesus has a big fan club.....easily 15 kids or more cheering him, and he came over to them after practice and hung out.

i will say ... i don't feel as strongly about my original take now that we've secured abrams who arguably has similar arm talent with more protypical size ...

Given the current landscape of CFB, there's at the very least a 60% probability that neither one ever takes a meaningful snap as a starter for us.

Top Portal QB will always be option 1.

Unless you recruit the next Pat Mahomes out of HS, there's no need to waste a season flipping a coin on an unknown commodity, vs pushing your chips in the middle of the table to bet all-in on an established known commodity that can translate to tangible real time success.

Portal reigns Supreme.

Can't be a D1 QB at 160 pounds ... just won't hold up. No matter how good the OL is a QB is going to have some contact ... especially if they use their feet ... which a short QB is going to have to do more than normal. He needs to hit the weight room hard. Abrahms on the other hand is already 190+ and close to 6'5". Should be over 200 lbs by the time he enrolls at UM and a redshirt season + S&C he should make it to 225 and be a beast.

Couldnt have said it any better myself.. Some would rather go 7-5 as long as a high school QB was playing it seems.. Its like this is first time we have been a playoff level team and it all stems from hitting on Portal QBs. You tell people this and then they Gen z stare at you and say "We got Emory Williams, why we portal for Mensah?" :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

I think Art (@TipDrill on here I think) made a great video about it but cotdam he savagely dropped it when our first high level 5 star prospect in 20+ years committed, didnt even let people enjoy the moent.. Good video tho and agree overall

I think the kid has an extreme capacity to gain weight. Kid has long arms and looks like he could add an easy 25 pounds.

And if my eye's don't deceive me, he's a better natural athlete than Ward, Beck & Mensah.
