If a coach could recruit players, he would not need to rely on transfers to fill out spots. For example if Richt properly recruited QBs we wouldnt have to rely on a transfer QB

Penn State has a history correct? Would you agree? Have you even been to Penn State? It is gorgeous there. History + nice campus = easy to recruit

Wash St most famous for Ryan Leaf and Pullman is a dump = tougher to recruit

Go check Houston's transfers, all those 4* are from Texas, same as UCF all are from Florida

Clearly they wanted to be closer to home, would you agree? Or could Leach have convinced them to get to Pullman

Since when has Miami relied on on transfers until recently with all the new rules being implemented? Brock Berlin and Greg Olsen from over 15 years ago?
 
@OriginalGatorHater the best is people denying that UGA is recruiting well. The second best thing is people saying Kirby at UGA is the same as Richt at UGA.

I absolutely agree about the history, but it is not gorgeous there. The campus is nice, but so is WSUs. I just used Penn state as an example. That if you have a decent recruiter and decent football team you can pull kids even if you are in the middle of nowhere. Leach almost won the pac12 and still can't pull a bunch of 4 stars.

I understand that, but Leach isn't getting the Washington, Oregon, Norcal, or Idaho kids to come play for him either.

LOL. We pulled Boulware and Tito just last year. UF just pulled Grimes last year. Tons of other elite schools are doing the same thing.

Recruiting rankings don't matter!! 7 5 stars in one class? Who cares Richt gets the underrated 3 stars. "Wait until Richts guys all graduate!" Kirby then proceeds to almost beat Saban with a bunch of freshman and sophomores.

Wait until Richt gets rid of goldens guys"! Richt proceeds to have his worst season at Miami and wishes he had more Golden recruits .

We got some undercover UGA fans up in here. Dudes arguing for this man like he has some ties to this school.

Kirby is a bum in big games. This man had two chances to stamp his name as an elite coach and choked them away.

Yes, if you acknowledge other teams are recruiting well and doing more than the previous coach you are an undercover fan.

How is saying that Kirby is a better coach than Richt make someone an undercover fan? I guess if someone says Saban is a good coach they also are an undercover fan.

It’s uncanny how similar Richts and smarts first 3 seasons at UGA were.

I think Kirby will actually get a NC at UGa.

For one they are straight up paying for better talent than Richt signed. Kirby has Activated the booster network, and they are holding nothing back.

If you don’t think they came to South Florida and bought Tyson Campbell and this year Tyrique Stevenson then you’re clueless.

Secondly they have possibly the best OL coach in America in Sam Pittman.

They are spending waaaaay more on assistants under Smart than Richt.

They are going “all in” on a title no holds barred.

Never did I say Leach is a recruiting god or elite all I said is he recruits better than those teams you listed. He's always going to lose recruiting battles to Washington, Oregon, USC, et because either those coaches are elite , Peterman, better recruiters Cristobal, or better programs, USC.

Then again he just signed his highest recruiting class ever and got massive amounts of good press with Minshaw and finished with the most wins in school history so we'll see how he recruits next year

So Utah and Oklahoma were better than Alabama when they played in the Sugar Bowl in years Alabama was out of the BCS Championship?
