Smart has been a HC for 3 years. He’s been to 2 conference championship games, and he’s 1-1.

He beat a Heisman trophy winning QB, and went to OT in the title game in the playoffs.

He’s a legit coach.

But he’s still in Year 3. And he’s still learning on the job.

I think UGA and Texas and Clemson and Oklahoma are all where we want Manny to take the Canes. And that’s to a place that challenges Alabama.

Even if you can’t beat Bama, being in the discussion matters. Because Saban ain’t coaching forever. And when he’s gone, that machine won’t run quite the same, IMO.

I don’t agree. Kirby had the biggest **** hole to step in of any coach i’ve seen in recent memory. He was supposed to step into a semi successful program in an overrated conference as an alum and take them to prominence immediately. The fan base quietly dismissed richts recruits flooded the upperclassmen tier and led them to that natty appearance. This created a mood in Athens of entitlement. Now all those fans want an return of investment every year and will accept nothing less because “it just means more” and smart is a saban disciple. Not happening imo. You want a natty? Win your half of the conference with 4 and 5 stars littering your roster first. Stop thinking you deserve a shot with two Ls over an undefeated cause you in a one team conference.

Agree with everything you said. Bolded is IMO an example of mass psychological manipulation. (One of many that are currently being utilized against us society btw but i wont get into all that) The false narrative is fuggin annoying.

Richt was a good coach in the early 2000’s notnsuoeised he has a good record. His last 7 years were what got him fired (finished unranked 4 times) if he doesn’t get to the playoffs next year with that loaded roster the honeymoon is over

This is funny! Georgia at the beginning of each of those coaches were two different programs. Georgia at the beginning of Richt's time hadn't won crap in over a decade (Vince Dooley) while Smart roll in right at 15 years of winning. Not championship game winning but top-tier SEC winning. Not to say Smart doesnt win something eventually, but he is not all that great!

The thing that everyone here is missing out on is they may have had the same amount of wins, but A kirby actually had to face Saban and the rest of the SEC powerhouses. Mork didn't have to deal with them. AND more importantly Kirby has been recruting better than Mork could ever dream of. Kirby has a ton of Fresh and soph 5 stars and is bringing in a ton more this year. If he keeps recruting like this he could be the biggest corch in the world. He will win an NC.
