So Gransapo broke originally the suspicion on CiS that Grier was using too... Dang, amazing what one can find on CanesInsight.

Will Grier Reportedly Gained 43 Pounds in a Year; Allegedly Failed Test for Ligandrol

Will Grier has been suspended for the remainder of the year. Multiple outlets are reporting the Florida quarterback failed a PED test. The details now appear to be sorted out — earlier, one ESPN reporter said it was an unnamed, unapproved over-the-counter issue, which is what Grier said in the press conference. It’s now being reported that the substance was ligandrol.

Nevertheless, given that this is now out there, it’s natural to look back and try to find out whether Grier had a discernible change in physique. As it turns out, there’s a story from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (which was aggregated from this College Spun post on a tweet from a Jacksonville radio host) from this August that claimed Grier put on 43 pounds between arriving on campus and a year later as a redshirt freshman:

And it seems to have done wonders for Florida quarterback Will Grier, who’s reportedly taken the “freshman 15” to a new level. Apparently, he’s bulked up to 215 pounds after weighing in at 172 as a freshman. That’s a significant increase. Grier basically went from being a super middleweight to a heavyweight over the course of a year. You have to wonder what in the world he ate throughout his freshman year, because we all know it wasn’t the old peanut-butter-sandwich trick.

With his new size, Grier will likely have a good shot at dethroning sophomore quarterback Treon Harris for the starting gig. Last year, Harris threw for 1,019 yards and nine touchdowns while Grier was redshirted. Maybe he brought peanut butter sandwiches to the game. Whatever the case may be, his father, Chad, is just happy he’s been stuffing his face like a bodybuilder.

This doesn’t appear to be beer and Taco Bell weight. Perhaps some more light will be shed on the background of this situation later, but it’s more likely that there will be a bunch of conflicting reports, and everyone will be left to draw their own conclusions.

Another weird wrinkle to the story is that there was apparently a post on a message board foreshadowing the failed test:
REPORT: WILL GRIER TESTED POSITIVE TO LGD-4033 (LIGANDROL), WHAT IS THAT?
The University of Florida’s Stud Freshman Quarterback-Will Grier allegedly tested positive to Ligandrol (LGD-4033). What the **** is that?

LGD-4033.svg

Note: There has been some conflicting reports. Many people are saying that a product called L3 Terminus. L3 Terminus is a supplement with herbs and amino acids that raise testosterone levels in deficient males (mainly over 40). Supplements like this are also used after a steroid cycle to increase natural testosterone. I do not think that this is what he tested positive for.

One source is saying Will Grier gained over 43 pounds over the past year. For this to be mostly muscle, there is an overwhelming good chance that it is from a PED. Does that mean Will Grier took steroids?!?!?! Maybe Not…

There is a new breed of performance enhancing drugs that have been on the market for the last 5-10 years. These drugs are called “SARMS” or Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators. These drugs are currently in FDA testing to be alternatives to steroids for people suffering from muscle wasting, osteoporosis, or other conditions.

So far in clinical trials, many of these SARMS, including LGD-4033 have seen great results with little to no side effects. One of the biggest benefits of these drugs are the fact that they are orally active without any liver issues. Most orally active steroids that are out now have to bypass the liver and can be toxic.

Many bodybuilders are using SARMS, including LGD-4033 because of their lack of side effects and their positive results on gaining muscle, losing fat, and injury prevention. LGD-4033 has been called the most anabolic of the current group of SARMS. SARMS, like LGD-4033 have been banned by most sports federations.

Should I take SARMS?

Absolutely not. SARMS could be great medications created to help people with osteoporosis and muscle wasting, but should not be taken until it receives FDA clearance and prescribed by a doctor.

This Son of a Bltch Will Grier becomes all muscled up and shred while our poor Brad Kaaya remains a skinny 208 - 209 lbs stationary skinny QB that is getting killed and has obviously not taken any of the Will Grier miracle substance, but you would think that if not 43 lbs, our trainers could have gotten Kaaya up to 225 lbs of muscles so that he doesn't have to panic when rushed and chased out of the pocket; a panic that goes with Kaaya having his most inaccurate throws while being flushed out on the run. Not saying that Kaaya should have cheated to gain muscle, but had he taken full advantage from all the legal COLLEGIATE Muscle Milk allowed, he'd gained the mass needed for a better sophmore year where he'd be more athletic and able to better withstand hits and even give a little punishment. ****, if Joe Yearby could have done it, why couldn't Brad. And so did Dalvin Cook for that matter, he was way smaller than Yearby, now they weighed the same over 200 lbs weight.

College programs are now allowed to provide all the supplements needed to gain weight for free that are approved by the NCAA.

Why was Grier spending his own money to buy supplements that may not be approved by the UF training staff?

How bout massive overdoses of Gator Aide.?

That sucker Gator Aid should have been made illegal as the first performance enhancing substance, lol. Because the Gators got a lot advantage being energizer bunnies that kept going in the 4th Qtr. for a long time, until... But, they wanted to make money, so they sold the drink and the rights to distribute it. ****, you'd think that UM with all their bragging about sports nutrition program this and that would come up with something. But as you know, as recently as 5 years ago, their own UM athletes in Football were not getting proper nutrition nor sufficient hydration. So go figure on UM nutrition research & development of some cutting edge nutrition/substnace to benefit UM athletes...and later the rest of the athletic world for a fistful of dollars... oh wait

Why was Grier spending his own money to buy supplements without approval of UF training staff?

He has been doing for over a year, which is before the NCAA was allowing unlimited food & nutrition to Football players. Moreover, as skinny as he was, he took that redshirt year to bulk up as much as possible, and so he wanted to do it as quick and hard therefore he CHEATED! And dude wanted to start and beat out the incumbent Treon Harris! Again, he cheated.

Unlimited food & nutrition was passed in April 2014 and effective in Aug 2014. This was before Grier's RS season of gaining weight. So why is he passing up free approved supplements to take ones that he paid for that may be unapproved?

Be that as it may, the UF provision would’ve afforded Grier the means to procure what would have something in the contents of Muscle Milk, in powder or liquid form.

But then, why does athlete cheat? He cheats not only because he wants an outcome real bad that another/others want badly too, he does so because he wants to be able to do more and do it faster than his competitor can do. It’s really basic.
If you work as hard but recover quicker, then you can get back to grinding again, while your competitor is recuperating.

“I am working and he's resting.”

That may sound like the mantra of all hard working people, but that doesn’t really get one ahead much when another is working just as hard if not harder than you; it just gets you to keep up while praying for a break since, well, you’re working so hard.

There are other benefits that the drug provides that an athlete only on collegiate Muscle Milk won’t get. Thus, the faster gain in muscle mass by Will Grier, and one with greater explosion but without the loss of agility.

The reality is that a Treon Harris can secure the same gains, but without cheating as Grier did, Harris would have to wait a year or even two before he could bulk with such quality mass with agility.

Meh...so long as I am entertained, zero ***** given about what these dudes take to make themselves stronger and faster.

Sorry but to gain 43 lbs of muscle in a year is only possible if he was taking anabolic steroids not some bs over the counter herbal test booster. They think because most people are uneducated on steroids that the public is gonna buy that ****. Herbal test booster bare raise your production of testosterone and cant compare with the real thing. So Grier can quit with the bull**** act and take his suspension like a man and stop acting like all those baseball players in front of congress.

Take the suspension, keep working out clean, and come back and take the starting job next year.
PEDS do not make you better, just stronger faster. He would have had to wait 3-4 years to get to where he is now.
As long as he is not expelled, he has helped himself in the long run. Question is will he continue to work out hard without the test.

From what I read, the substance he tested positive for is designed to retain muscle mass. So likely he took some sort of steroids or hgh whatever, then got off of it and used this other substance to retain the mass he built.

This. He's not a better player because of PEDs. He fast-tracked years of S&C sessions tho. With all the food/protein/supplements/etc that these guys get, and the HGH going around the NFL, who is still taking steroids??
