UF makes bogus claim

The greatest dynasty in CFB history:
1986-1992

79-6 overall record

3 national titles (87,89,91)
5 straight bowl wins (87,88,89,90,91)
2 title game losses (86,92)

Lost to Notre Dame in 88 “Cleveland Gary didn’t fumble”

2 Heisman winners (86 - QB Vinny Testaverde, 92 - QB Gino Toretta)

What made this stretch even more impressive was the fact that Miami dominated the likes of Florida State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Nebraska yearly who at the time were always top national teams. Oh and this was also part of the 58 straight victories in the orange bowl.
Oklahoma had 3 losses between 85-87. Guess who beat them?

Miami all 3 times.

That game between us and them in 87 ultimately decided the national champion.

They took the championship in 85 despite losing to us had we ended up winning out and not losing at the end of the year in 85 that championship belongs to us.

86 we all know what happened, blew it in the fiasco bowl. 88 Cleveland Gary didn’t fumble. F*** Notre Dame.

When you sit down and think about it. Jimmy Johnson was a few bad games and a blown call away from potentially winning 4 national titles in a row. God knows what could’ve been had he never left for Dallas…

At least 7-8 more years of domination.

Exactly.

‘85 & ‘86 screwed the pooch
‘88 got screwed
‘00 got screwed
‘02 got screwed

I’ll accept ‘85 as we got dominated that game, but ‘86, ‘88, ‘00, ‘02, those yrs hurt not having the appropriate hardware in our trophy room.
