UF makes bogus claim

In any conversation i have ever had regarding the best college teams, nobody has ever tried to add those teams to the conversation. not once ever. And this isn’t a miami fan hating because its the gators thing, and I am talking in different parts of the country with people who are indifferent to any rivalry between miami and florida. I don’t think many people but gator fans thinks those teams are even inside the top 25 teams of all time, depending on how far back you want to go. they couldnt even run their own schedule, **** out of here.
I think across the country there’s maybe 5 teams that get tossed in there, all from the modern era.

1995 Nebraska
2001 Miami
2004 USC
Texas with Vince Young
2019 LSU

And I am sure last year Georgia will wind up in the discussion.

This pretty much sums it up in a nutshell.

Thanks for the post.

For those of you that are more visually oriented, this is what you’re dealing with:

I don’t know

As much as it pains me to say and they aren't a title squad, I think 94 Penn State is one of the great teams and could possibly beat those Gator teams.

…other than the teams they lost to in each of those seasons.

They had 7 losses in 4 years, that is an average of nearly 2 losses per season AND they are claiming they would lose to no one...

What am I missing?

Including 2003, Miami only lost FOUR games in a 4 year period (2000-2003). Unless my mathz is ****ed up, that just seems better...

The "Hot Take" element in the OP indicates that the author knows it's probably not true but because of some type of bias believes it anyway. I hope this helps

Part of the problem in the current world is a lack of critical or reasonable thought. You don't get a pass if you believe something stupid, whether you put "Hot Take" at the start or not.

Where does jumping to conclusions without having a good understanding of all the information fit in to the problems of the current world?

The lack of critical or reasonable thought comment was targeted for the UF site that posted that, not you.

That LBer Trio was without question, the Best in CFB History. You had an AA LBer covering opposing teams slot receivers step for step. not only is that a huge help to a secondary, but it literally forces the QB to become one dimensional in the passing game. Sonny Lubick will always be my favorite DC....
I always remember Houston rolling in as the big **** on the block with the run and shoot. Then seeing Klingler after on possession. No answer for Miami speed. Darren Smith was step for step with there slot. They knew they were ****ed.

1989-1992

44-4

2 titles

1 title game loss

1991 greatest team ever

1991 vs FSU greatest CFB game of all time

/summary judgment granted with fees awarded
The greatest dynasty in CFB history:
1986-1992

79-6 overall record

3 national titles (87,89,91)
5 straight bowl wins (87,88,89,90,91)
2 title game losses (86,92)

Lost to Notre Dame in 88 “Cleveland Gary didn’t fumble”

2 Heisman winners (86 - QB Vinny Testaverde, 92 - QB Gino Toretta)

What made this stretch even more impressive was the fact that Miami dominated the likes of Florida State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Nebraska yearly who at the time were always top national teams. Oh and this was also part of the 58 straight victories in the orange bowl.
