Personally I don't care who he picks just the fact that he is a * buckeye * and considers them 02 champs is enough for me to dislike him but to each his own.
 
Road favorites that are hammered by the betting public have an awful track record ATS. Given that Miami is only a 3 pt favorite give or take, it makes sense to pick FSU to win if you assume they cover the spread. BSPN isn't gonna use that as their argument on College Gameday so they talk about other irrelevant factors. Nothing else to see here.

FWIW Thor Nystrom from Rotoworld noted this trend against public road favorites and still picked Miami...
 
Why do we always seek validation like a scorned ex spouse? We were good in the sack, still are.

Fair enough. But the reason Bear stated for FSU to win don't make sense. None of his reasons had to do with this year state of both teams. He only chose history to be the only determining factor. Totally illogical for someone making a living of predicting games outcomes. History is one of the factors, but if you use it as the only factor ignoring the state of affairs NOW, then you're biased.

If I don't know anything about two teams playing a game, I would chose the winner based on the history of their performance against each other. The easiest and most unscientific parameter. Which Mr. Bear did today.

Bear doesn’t “ make his living” picking games.Hes one of the producers for the show I believe.He only started this bear board last year I think.

He has constantly been pro Miami but he’s just telling the truth when he says we haven’t won a significant game in MANY years and until we do it’s hard to side with us.The thing we need to do is go whack the Noles today and then no one will have that little caveat to throw out there when talking about us.

That's not my main point. No matter who you are, picking a winner does not only rely on the history especially when one team (Miami) has new coaching staff with new culture. What about QB play? Skill players, Front 7, momentum etc. You don't factor any of those in your picking? Hey, Oklahoma beat Iowa State like 13 times in a raw and ranked #3 in the country. Go watch the game now on Fox Sport LOL
