UCF to Hire Dino Babers

Awesome hire for them. He wasn't good enough or proven enough for us. But UCF could be a launching pad for him.

Who is he?

The Black Art Briles.

Dino Babers is the kind of different that the Miami Hurricanes need - CBSSports.com

Babers runs the same offense you see at Baylor. He learned it while working under Art Briles from 2008-11, before he left to become the head coach at Eastern Illinois. While at EIU, he helped turn Jimmy Garoppolo into a second round draft pick and the heir apparent to Tom Brady in New England.

He also went 12-2 in his second season, leading the Panthers to the FCS quarterfinals.

Babers then left for Bowling Green; in his second season, the Falcons are 6-2 while averaging 595.3 yards and 43.9 points per game. The only two losses BG has suffered this year were to Tennessee and a three-point defeat at the hands of Fuente's Tigers.

Sounds like a great hire if he can get some assistants on his staff with ties to the state of Florida. If Tim Harris is not retained by the new Miami HC, then going to UCF learning under someone like Babers could be a good move.

He has the quiet confidence of a contract assassin. Very different from lucky charms Oleary.
