Blake was visible before the 3 game winning streak, imparting high-level thoughts on the future of Al Golden. Following Saturday night's pizz poor performance, Walford, Perryman and Kaaya came out with pitchforks. Where is Blake James?

This is a response I got from Blake (or someone responding on Blake's behalf) when I asked why should I renew my season tickets next year and why should I continue to become a hurricane club member.

I appreciate your passion for our program. Like you and so many others I want to see our program back competing for national titles and in the talk of the best teams in the country. I think all of us, including Coach Golden would agree that we are not there right now.

As I have said before this is a process, not a flipping of the switch. I think it is important that we recognize where the program was at when Al arrived and what we have gone through since he has been here as we define the expectations going forward. It is also important to recognize as with so many things, that in building this program we are going to take many steps forward while at the same time occasionally taking a step back. I think we all could agree that going into the UVA game we had taken a number of positive steps this season, Saturday night was a step backward. With that said, I remain committed to providing our coaches and student athletes with the resources they need to compete to be the very best.

To answer your question on why you should renew your tickets next year….I would say it’s because you bleed orange and green and have a passion for this program and the young men who put on the U and go out and give it their all every single Saturday. That as we build this program back you will be able to remember what we went through and enjoy the accomplishment that much more. Finally, I would say you renew your tickets because you are part of something special, unlike any other program, a family that is passionate about its team that takes the tough years harder but enjoys the rewards all the greater.

Thanks again for your support in the past. I hope we can count on your support in the future.

Happy Thanksgiving. Go Canes!
Blake

I'm still trying to figure out how they have taken "many steps forward" when it's been the same crap every year. What we 'almost' beat FSU, so has half their schedule.

At least he or someone on his behalf responded.

lolz. What a phony.

We are truly ****ed. This fool really is okay with 8-9 wins.

What a f*cking joke

This dude is Golden's f*cking talking sock puppet

What makes people think that BJ even has the power to make the call? He'll do whatever the BOT tells him.

However, BJ knows that Goldie is sunk, because the Pitt game will be another loss... Goldie's last loss as Head Corch.

BJ is now scribbling his words, justifying why Goldie's *** is GONE.

It'll be a thankful Thanksgiving at Goldie's for sure. Thankful for the millions of dollars that The U has spent on his Golden Parachute.

Maybe you should ask him to clarify what he means by "steps forward".

My opinion, fans need to continue to put pressure on James, along with the BOT. Forget about Shalala, she's on her way out, that's not a decision she wants to make right now. Keep pressure on James and let's see if he's a puppet that will be replaced by the new president or if he actually has a pair. If he's still in possession of his balls, he can make the case to Shalala and/or the BOT that replacing Golden is in the best interest of the school. With a new president coming in, whether he likes it or not, every decision he makes is essentially an interview for his own job.

it's good that we got a response.

we need to flood his inbox with "same record but the African American coach gets fired."

also mention the arrest records under Golden.

I got a phone call today front someone in Blake James' offices when I left an email on Sunday saying I will not be renewing my 5 club level seats.

They left a voicemail and phone number.

Stuck in the mud with this program as long as AL is here
"what must be done eventually must be done immediately"

This how I responded.

Mr. James,

I appreciate you responding, it at minimum shows that someone is reading the emails that fans our sending.

Again, I don't envy your job.

As you stated, your job is provide the coaches and student athletes the best possible resources to compete not only in the classroom but on the field.

You also mentioned that the team has taken many steps forward with the occasional step backwards.

I understand sir that there is really no good answer for this nor would you I expect for you respond to me say the same way you would to President Shalala or the Board of Trustees.

Here's the question that I feel and many of the 'logical' fans would ask when it comes to the comment of taking steps forward and the occasional step backward.

What are the actual steps forward the team has taken that would make me feel that next year would be different?

Here are your records since 2010:

2010: 7-6
2011: 6-6
2012: 7-5
2013: 9-4
2014: 6-5 (current record)

Usually when someone is taking many steps forward and the occasional step backwards you see an improvement. I'm sure you know that at the University of Miami, there's a standard. At least there used to be a standard of excellence.

You can say; yes Miami beat up on Duke but it's Duke... We won at Blacksburg!!! However this is the worse team Virginia Tech has had in years... We played FSU to the brink!!! Well, so has half their schedule.

Now yes, we have had the NCAA cloud. However, how long will this cloud continue to linger. During that time Golden has been able to obtain top recruiting classes (according to stars) every year. Much better recruits than say UVA.

Again, this is not something that you need to respond to me personally.. I will know what your response is going to be in the next upcoming months but ask yourself this.

Where's the end game here?

You are losing 3 out of your 4 best offensive weapons. You are losing the heart and soul of your defense.

Many fans are asking fans like me to stop contributing to the school to show how we fans feel. I still don't know if I can do that or not. I'm really on the fence about it.

Happy Thanksgiving Sir, to you and your family.

Ps: No matter what, I will always bleed Orange and Green. It's what I grew up with.

This is an Elite ****ing Program. we should always BE THERE!!!

That's the thing though Fountain, this WAS an elite program. Hasn't been "elite" for quite some time. This vicious cycle that they are currently in needs to stop and re-worked. There so called 'process' is just not working.
