UAB on ESPN3 at 8 tonight

Their defense wasn’t as disruptive as I thought. It did what it had to do for the most part, but everybody had them dominating CUSA this year based on that defense, and I didn’t see it.

Offensively, I didn’t get the QB rotation. It’s not like one of them is a change of pace guy. Outside of having a noticeably weaker arm than the other, they both were the exact same QB. You switch up Chris Leak for Tim Tebow. You don’t switch up Chris Leak for Chris Leak Jr.

They struggled hitting stuff down field. Not that it wasn’t there per se. They just couldn’t complete the passes. If they can’t threaten us downfield, we are going to kill their QB and TE.

They are average.. but then again, we might be too.
According to the two practice reports the staff put out. We may be transcendent on offense this year. I'm willing to bet with everything in your wallet we win at least 11 games.

in between all the moaning and groaning of how we looked against FIU, Duke and La Tech. I think some people (myself included) forget that we won 17-12 at home against Central Michigan in quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen in my life.
That game ****ed me off just about as bad as the losses. It was a truly disgusting display of indifference and incompetence.

No no no. I was told every win is a good win.
A win is better than a loss but an ugly one is still f_ing agonizing. I think the CMU game was more hard to watch in some ways than even the final 3 game meltdown because at that point we still thought we might have a decent team..

I admittedly didn't watch the full game, just the highlights and the thread here about it, but to me it looked like UAB won pretty handily? They built a big lead early and it looked like the only reason Central Arky made it close were the two turnovers and a late garbage score, so in the words of the immortal Thomas Jefferson, "what'd I miss?"

I still think we win by 3+ TDs but reading the board made me think CAU won by ruthlessness and UAB didn't bother to field a team last night.

No it was close at several junctures. 21-14 late in the 2nd and I think CAU was driving and had a bad turnover.

Hardly his fault alone.
The QB should get the lion's share of the blame. He sets the tone for the team. JW could not have cared less about the job. All of CFB realized that as well. A 4th string RB that barely played ends up at UF because of his potential; Williams didn't even get offered by WKU as a transfer. Instead, he ended up playing football for a community college in New Jersey. That pretty much tells you all you need to know. If Williams was just a victim of circumstance and not the main reason the team failed, some team in the country would have tried to get him to transfer.
