UAB Game Moved, per Barry Jackson

Man, the timing of our home games always sucks, year after year - 3 right off the bat, in less than 3 weeks, in the hottest part of the season, with a Thursday game thrown in. Thursday game = $h*tty tailgate.

The home schedule is never even throughout the season anymore......it's always either really backloaded, or frontloaded.

Both of those things don’t work out well for us, if you missed that this year.
So you're therefore saying if it was up to you, you'd elect for us to have 7 days for our trip to East Lansing instead of 9? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Interesting dilemma we’ve found our Canes in. When coming off anything more than 7 days we have not performed at all. It will be incumbent on Reed and Manny to keep the kids focus. Nothing like some hardcore Greenetree practice games to keep the focus sharp. UAB won 9 games last year and like FIU, they will play hard and physical football. I know there’s some who like these “tune-up games”, but I think they’re going to be tougher out of the gate as Lashlee fine tunes his offense. It will take big efforts from the defense to balance things out for W’s.

It’s not Reed’s job to keep the kids focus, that why we have a HC

The larger issue is that Blake even scheduled this game on a ****** holiday. What is Blake's excuse, that the ****** calendar was not yet finalized at the time the game was scheduled?

He botched the announcement of the UM-UF game change (though he knew before the tickets went on sale), and now he is scheduling games on ****** high holidays, only to switch them after the schedule is announced.

FIRE BLAKE JAMES.

this has happened in the early 00s when miami played a home game on one the ****** holidays as well. doesnt happen often, but it does. also, give it a rest. not everything is a crisis that you make it out to be lol. a bit overdramatic

Go fvck yourself and stop stalking me.

If we play a game on the high holidays, so be it. But there is no need for Blake to get cute and "move" the game because of a known and scheduled high holiday.

The crisis is not this particular game, it is Blake's habit of mismanaging everything he touches, including changing game dates after the announcement of the schedule and/or the sale of game tickets.

But, hey, if you want to die on that hill defending Blake, that's on you.

You need to remove the delusion that extra days off are a benefit to Manny's coaching, just because that is the general result throughout the rest of the football world. Proof is in the pudding.

So you're sticking by this one, eh? Because we lost two games coming off byes last year, we are better off moving forward if we only have 7 days to prepare for a big road opponent rather than 9. Got it.

Not to mention the bowl game and the opener, which both had extra prep time. Why don't you show me a list of wins after a longer prep time for Manny as our head coach and we can compare data?

the only time thye looked decent off extended time was the UF game and even that was ugly.

There is no bye week curse, just a bad OC, a couple of position coaches and complacency.

Expect different results this year. High standards and the accountability to enforce them will make 2019 a distant memory soon enough.

Sorry for your loss, tailgaters.
Not just them, but for season ticket holders that live out of state (like me), now they have to decide whether to take 2 days off work to attend. Was really looking forward to this game since I live in bhm.
