There's no reason we shouldn't beat this team by at least 21.

New season.
New OC.
New Experience QB.
No excuses for Manny.

Yeah, like how we won the CMU game last year. Winning, even barely, is big. Well, except for the fact it isn't. A 3 point win against a scrub means you suck.
I disagree, a win is a win. Now the way in which a game is won leads to much speculation and such, but doesn't change the W/L record. And who says we don't suck? Our recent performance says otherwise. We SHOULD be better. But a lot of things SHOULD be. We'll see next Thursday. Just win the game.

No, a crappy win may be a W, but it does NOT mean good things are coming. All wins are not equal. There is enough statistical proof that shows good/great teams don't play close games against bad teams nearly as often as they blow them out. If we continue struggling with scrubs, it means we are scrubs. A win might be a W, but it doesn't mean you are any better than the crap team you just barely beat.

Now, take the 1999 game at FSU. Miami played their hearts out and just ran out of gas. Are you telling me that CMU win was more impressive than the 99 loss to #1 FSU? It is not always simply about the Ws and Ls. It's about who you beat, or lost to. It's about how you played in the W or L. At no point is a close game against a far less talented team a good sign. Never. However, that L in Tallahassee had every FSU fan I talked to during and after the game shook.

So yeah, if we need to block a FG at the last second to beat UAB, don't expect a parade around here.

We should blow out this team but they have a week of play time to clean up their mistakes.

but from the looks of that team we should have a couple of their players leave the game early!

Unless you have championship expectations, it doesn't make a difference. My expectations are less lofty. I'm looking to see if the staff has a clue and learned something from last year.
