Redshirt junior Lawrence Cager, challenged by coaches to make better use of his size (6-5, 215), took a step backward last scrimmage, according to Dugans. He caught two passes for eight yards.

“Cage, he was going, getting there, getting there, and it’s like, ‘Hey, he’s starting to come along,'” Dugans said. “Then this last scrimmage, he didn’t grade out so well. It wasn’t one of his better days. I’d like to see more out of him — just being consistent, actually him and [Darrell] Langham. My two bigger guys, I want to see those guys play bigger. They have to play to their true size and dominate.”

Langham, listed at 6-4, 225 but may be closer to 240, did not crack the stat sheet in scrimmage No. 1.

Dugans, by the way, was upgraded this week to “co-offensive coordinator,” according to UM. He already held the title of passing game coordinator. He said he will now be “more involved with the install” of UM’s offense, along with offensive coordinator and running backs coach Thomas Brown. The bottom line: this is Mark Richt’s offense.

Not sure what Langham is capable of but if he's 6'4" 240 and can't separate as a WR why not move him to TE? We have a shortage there and maybe with him matched up against LBs and nickel backs he may be able to do something. Just a thought.
Langham is literally the least physical receiver that we have on the team. Moving him to a position that demands physicality is not the right move. Of course, we can flex him out wide as a TE in certain packages, but we don't have to change his position in order to do that. We used Gaynor as a fullback at times last year, that doesn't mean we should have moved him off of the O-line.

The coaches all complain about the same thing when it comes to Langham, "he needs to play to his size and be more physical." TE is not the position for Langham!

I think langham might transfer after spring ball. He wouldn't have to sit out and could go to a smaller school where he could play.

I hope he can stick it out and learn how to use his size to his advantage. Having Cager and Langham in short goal situations could be a big advantage

Just looked up Langham's stats and am SHOCKED to see that he had one catch for just two yards in our last 7 games. I don't remember him being that much of a non-factor after coming through in the clutch vs FSU and GT. Clearly, we are misusing him.

I’ve been saying this for over a year , he could be used like Njoku.

Langham can mail it in from here on out for all I care. Won us 2 pivotal games in back to back weeks and helped us start a run that we haven't had around here in 10 years. I'm good

Yep. He's enshrined in the highlight vault for all time. THE defining moment of 2017.

I didn't know he was a look like Tarzan plays like Jane type guy. Always just thought he didn't see much action because he was slow. Thanks for the education.

Man, I thought so at the time, but that pick 6 against ND was unreal. They were ranked #3, while FSU was a dumpster fire. I know FSU was a thorn in our sides, and it was great to beat them in dramatic fashion, but to put a dagger in ND's heart like that might have been the sweetest thing I have seen in years.

On a side note, that ND game was about the most fun I’d had watching a game in a long time. I live in Georgia and am surrounded by UGA fans. These guys had been dogging us all season for barely winning. I’d bring up how they “barely” beat Notre Dame on a last second field goal, but they always had an excuse. Notre Dame was going to kill us. We’d been scraping by on luck playing garbage teams and UGA was the real deal.

I was at a watch party with all these Bulldog fans and man you should have seen the tears when Auburn took them behind the woodshed in the 3:30 game...

Then our game started. You should have seen their faces when all that “Miami can’t even sell out a home game” bull**** came crashing down ant the ND fans were caught in high definition having to cover their ears.

**EDIT** FYI, I wasn't invited to anymore watch parties.

That game showed what we could do when we were playing well. If we could bring that every week, or heck, more than a couple times a year, we'd be where we all want to be. Back.

Personally THAT was my favorite part of last year. ND fans are among my least favorite and their tears were so, so sweet
