What is your single memory of him playing for the Canes? Is there a certain play, game?? What are your thoughts?

One of the sad things I remember is Larry Coker didn't give him a carry on his last couple of games as a Cane.

I think he's 11th in career rushing yardage for the Canes with 1942 yards. 38 yards ahead of Danyell Ferguson and 11 behind Stephen McGuire.

Clemson game in Death Valley will always be what stands in my mind. RIP.

I remember watching him in state championship game in early 2000's when we just finished our run of Jackson/ portis/mcgahee etc at rb and thinking we are set at this position for a long time...then again I thought the same when we had Kenny/Brock/ and then signed Kyle Wright

Single best memory was him taking over the UNC game.

Coker gave him every shot. Don't know where this is coming from

Obviously he'd be one of the all-time greats if he didn't hurt his knee against VT. He was a beast for those 7 games he was healthy AND wasn't fat.

I liked him a lot.

My favorite Tyrone Moss memory:

Sitting in the corner of the end zone at Clemson in 2005 with @k9cane, seeing Ty Moss take it 25 yards to the house to win the game in OT right in front of us.

Pretty much the whole 05 season. I thought he was gonna be the next great back at UM.

VT 2005 stands out based on ****** memory alone. And the clemson OT td.

One of the greatest high school RB’s I’ve ever seen, rushed for over 7000 yards in high school.

He was part of that great Ely state championship team that had 2 of the best on the OL at the time Andrew Bain and Cyrim Wimbs, both played at UM.Bain was just appointed as a judge in Orange County by Governor DeSantis just recently.

Moss was phenomenal in that UNC game in 2005 the game was played right after South Florida was hit by Hurricane Wilma one of the worst hurricanes ever to hit us-I was living in Deerfield Beach.

He passed away way to early-RIP Tyrone.

Before his knee injury at Vatech later that season, he was really turning into a raging bull. A guy that could control the clock and churn out yards for the offense. He looked like a big NFL back. Almost like a more athletic version of Stephen McGuire

But that injury ruined him, and he really didn't have the work ethic to overcome it

I'll never forget coach Soldinger getting on him for being really out of shape in the off-season after his strong freshman season -- and Coker reprimanding Sol for saying it. That's when I knew our program was cooked

I think that if Ty doesn't blow his knee, we are marching toward another National Championship. That team was rocking, with Moss running, and Kyle Wright was actually playing well. Defense was solid, with Jennings, and Maxey, balling out in the secondary.

My memory is one of regret. Why? We were recruiting Maurice Jones-Drew, RB teammate of DJ Williams from de la Salle in California. Maurice wanted to be a Cane. But, Larry Coker preferred Moss. So Maurice ended up at UCLA where he starred before beginning a stellar career in the NFL. A real unforced recruiting error by the Canes.

I guess what this thread is really about is how big a letdown Charlie Jones was. That GT game was pathetic.

Coker going for it 3 times on 4th and short (thanks Jones) in field goal range because 'FGs aren't going to win you this game.' So dumb. Mario level dumb.
