Struggling to find an actual report on this, but I've heard Tyriq McCord suffered a season ending injury in rookie practice, and had to be placed on the IR...Steelers have released him due to this injury. (this actually happened on Tuesday but I didn't see it posted here yet.)

**** that's messed up.... McCord has a lot of talent if he wants it bad enough he'll get another opportunity.

Tough break for McCord...I just hope he gets healthy and come back strong.

hate to hear this. very talented young man and I was looking forward to seeing turn some heads. hope he gets healthy soon

Of all the kids who were lost in the 3-4 AG/MD abyss, I feel the worst for Tyriq. He was one of the best pass rushers in HS football and looked the part early in his career at UM. Then he just disappeared in pass coverage.

If he had the opportunity to play for a DC in a scheme similar to Diaz and a legit DL coach, not even at the level of Kool, he's an early round draft pick. Probably not 1st round but 2-4.

Hope the kid recovers and gets another opportunity. I think he could be an asset to an NFL team. Poor mans Chandler Jones type of player.

Feel for the kid. Always hoped to see him in a real defense.

Might actually be good news for him because I think they have to pay him. Pretty sure they have to pay him until he's cleared to play, which might be longer than he would have stuck around depending on the severity of the injury.

I'm sorry but I think some of those comments are way off.

At best, he's a solid backup in the NFL.

This is one the last staff didnt mess up. Mccord was too small to be a 4-3 d-end and not good enough in space to be a 3-4 olb.

What do you do with a guy who cant play d-end or cant stand up and play Lb?

But, he made a play one time.

I saw a potentially javon nanton like DE, a situational pass rusher that could still impact the game even though he's undersized.
