can't throw emory out there on the road against the noles ... but tvd doesn't win, his career at the U is over
If Nick Saban suddenly took over our team, TVD holds a clip board for the remainder of the season and then graduates and go and sell insurance. Who would take him in the portal now that he's been exposed BADLY??

Why not?? Ask Gino Toretta or Ken Dorsey???
Both had their first start in hostile away games and their college careers were stellar
guys are hot over the loss ... but you don't damage emory's confidence with a beatdown on the road ... give him another week to watch ...

Why not? Are you expecting TVDs poise and experience to guide us to a win? Let it go my brother. TVD isnt the kid you saw freshman year. You put Emory out there and create a game plan designed for him. It may not be pretty. But thats the correct move.

I get the logic, but I'd counter that if one bad game can ruin his entire career, he wasn't the guy in the first place.

It wasn’t pretty against Clemson and he got it done and IMO, Clemson has a better defense than FSU.

TVD lost to fsu that redshirt freshman year to the Noles team that finished 4-7 (excluding the win against us) and they lost to Jacksonville school for the blind that year

i'm the opposite, go out there with tvd and let it rip ... nothing to lose at this point and everything to gain ... open it up and see if he (tvd) can get it done ... if he doesn't emory is up ... can't have a gameplan like tonight with tvd as your qb, if that's the offense we're gonna run, might as well let emory run it and let him grow

I agree but Clemson wasn’t prepared for Emory. FSU will know there is a chance Emory or Jacurri will be getting burn probably

I can't think of a single example of a QB who really blossomed and became a difference maker early in his career who was damaged by facing a real challenge as a frosh. If Emory is the goods, you send him out there. If he turtles like TVD, then he was never going to be a great leader here. Sunshine at Clemson, Maye at UNC, Tua at Bama and others.

They were not crushed by an opportunity because they were freshmen. You roll the dice with Emory and who knows? Maybe Mario lucks out. he wouldn't be the first subpar HC who was buoyed by a QB that made him look like a better coach than he actually was. I'm all for it as long as we're winning games and improving.

i didn't ... before my time ... fair point tho

Erickson went down the week before and Gino walked into a firestorm night game at Tallahassee.
He was hammered and lost. But never forgot how tough it could get out there. Motivated him to be ready or get killed... got himself a Heisman before he checked out.
The tough learn from hard times. The weak retreat and fall apart....
