it's an interesting move because yesterday on Caneshades he said he was considering reclassifying to 2016 and if he couldn't do that he would be and EE in 2017. STA doesn't allow players to be EE's so i wonder if he'll really push hard for reclassification now.
This is interesting. Maybe he will reclassify and I bet it would be easier at a school like STA instead of Dillard.
Looks like ole' Roger is locking things down in Broward. Goes back to my theory about how kids in Broward nowadays don't want to go to schools in the hood' anymore. No honor in reppin' the hometown team. It still seems like an important thing in Dade but not Broward anymore.
It never was important in broward. Broward is all about recruiting and winning. Dade has more tradition of parents wanting to send their kids to the neighborhood schools that they are alumni too. Dillard has been getting raided by sta for decades, its why their has been the downfall in their program. Their getting hit up by the uschools, heritage, sta's of the world an cant fdo anything about it...cause those schools are private and winning state chips.
Slightly disagree gogeta..In the late 90s, early 00s and **** even before then, playing for the home school was the thing to do in Broward. Didn't you go to South Broward or McArthur with Broderick Nelson and Zeke Mckine? (I think I remember you saying you knew them. If I am wrong my apologies.) Now granted, if they had been around nowadays, they prob would be going the private school route. Guys like Autry Denson and Khalid Abdullah who both went to Nova were few and far between.
STA always recruited well but not like now...this is basically a takeover. The public schools don't have a chance.
I think back in the day, there was at least equal talent across the board between the public and privates. But now its just all private in Broward. (remember the STA vs Dillard games back in the 90s/00s? Classic. And the Soul Bowl should be renamed to the Trash Bowl. Both Ely and Dillard stink)
Now whether this is a good thing or bad thing for UM is another story.
I played at Mcarthur with Zeke Mckine. **** we went toe to toe with one of stas best team and lost by like 1 point. BIG TIME GAME...Big time talent all over the field..And your right for the most part the talent at my high school were ALLL homegrown. (Carver ranches,Hollywood)
-Your right though....its a private school TAKE OVER. I literally remember Dillard when i was in high school being SCARY good...i mean going to to toe with STA with Guys like Chris Gamble. Dillard had a dl full of kids that went to div 1 and they were guys all abourt 250+...kids to auburn,OSU n etc. Ely vs Dillard was chock full of talent and every bodyu in broward would go to watch..i know i did.
This is why i love it when Miramar puts a beating on these privates...cuz it is really out of hand. The coaching at the privates in broward is much much beter than the publics.....in the private school realm there are for example at Heritage (chock full of ex nfl players, basically all of their coaches played in nfl)...(sta-ex college coaches, long term steady coaches) where as in the ublic schools these coaches are around 2-3 years then out.
The private schools have gotten smart and hit the youth/optomist circuit and thats where they have blossomed/benefit. Then these 7 on 7 camps all these kids chill as hthey played in youth ball and they are doing their recruiting there.
