IMO the writing is on the wall. If Deboer is putting it on the QB to make all those reads and adjustments pre snap then he has to have a running QB because these SEC teams are going to rely on pash rush. This isn’t the PAC 10 where you could just pick apart the secondary. And Russell announced he’s staying.

That team is a mess. Bad OL and god awful running game . Their gameplan was pretty much run around and make something happen. In Dawson’s offense he’d be a problem. On top that he’s a good athlete.
