Ty Hill

@HighSeas I hope Carlton Davis confidence isnt shot after yesterday. Im like you and have had high hopes for Davis. He seems to be in place most of the time, but just slow to make a play on the ball. That shot of him with his head down on the bench after Hills last TD where the ball went right over his head looked like he was ready to quit right there.

All I want is for one off these guys on espn or fs1 to eat crow and admit that Jameis was not the biggest problem like everyone made him out to be.

He'll be fine just needs a new DC who knows how to use him correctly.

On the bright side, I saw this eruption coming a mile away and had Hill in every DFS lineup 💰

Bucs fan here.

1. Tampa Bay’s secondary is seriously overrated, ever since the Green Bay game. The Bucs should have lost the Monday night game at NYG. The Giants had WRs running open deep all night, but Daniel Jones wasn’t seeing them. Watch the Saints, Rams, and Chiefs losses. Those QBs tore up the Bucs.

2. I agree with the media Arians needs to call more ‘Brady’ plays and less risk-it-or-biscuit. For one, the Bucs OL is not consistent at providing a clean pocket, although the 1st-round RT looks like a keeper. Two, even though Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and AB are excellent WRs no one on that roster has top-end speed. Evans has been nursing a leg injury this season, so there’s that.

If you want Brady in your offense to work, dont let him throw deep passes. Its the one area where he was somewhat human the past 20 years.

He’s made some outstanding deep throws this season. See the TD pass to Scottie Miller against the Raiders, the deep pass to Godwin yesterday. Evans dropped a beautiful deep sideline pass yesterday. Brady’s been inconsistent at best (and struggled lately) because the OL is average.

I agree about the secondary and Brady. I don't agree about the OL. Pass protection has been outstanding besides the one Joe Haeg game. Any "OL issues" have more to do with Arians/Leftwich having way too many deep drop pass concepts and Brady not having the escapability to extend plays.

Bucs have been letting mediocre defenses stop them with 2 deep coverage looks because the best ways to attack those coverages are with mobile QBs or option routes to a back. Well those are the 2 biggest weaknesses of the Bucs offense. Everything goes back to the decision to move on from Winston and the total failure to address the need for a receiving back. Winston and Fitzpatrick used to destroy 2-man coverage. Brady can't move like that so he needs even a Dion Lewis or Boston Scott type of journeyman back to bail him out when the coverage shell takes away Arians' vertical routes.

All the new hype for AB and Gronk and the emergence of Miller...I'd trade all 3 for a quality receiving back and let Evans, Godwin and Brate handle the downfield work.

Bottom line is the owners have no f***ing clue and never have, Jason Licht is a meathead GM who drafted a fraud LB #5 overall (I wanted Brian Burns or Devin Bush) and can't evaluate DBs for ****, and the coaching staff is a bunch of dinosaurs who never adjust.

Which is why you let the man dink and dunk his way down the field.

He's made outstanding Deep throws his entire career...

This offense is broken. Arians needs to realize who the QB he paid $50m is. He also needs somebody better than Leftwich to help him on game planning and game day. Brady is still capable and there's too much talent on this offense to look this bad 10 weeks in.
Brady started the year throwing well deep, but there's a reason we can remember every deep throw he has made over the past month, they're rare, he can make those from time to time, but it can't be part of your bread and butter plays. The FO failure to adress the need for a receiving back is mind boggling
Bowles is what he is, he will destroy mediocre offenses with the bucs talent, but will get exposed by any offense with good talent and coaching.

Overall in an open NFC this teams future hangs on the offense. Can they adjust the offense? Can Brady cut back on the bad picks he's being throwing?

PS:What kind of stockholm syndrome has Bucs fans claiming for Jameis days? You can aim for better than a vet minimum 3rd string QB

The answer lies in your previous question. Picks are endemic to Arians' offense, and Koetter's too unless you're a conservative wuss like Matt Ryan (who takes a ton of sacks instead). Jameis was good last year and I do miss having a QB with mobility who could get the ball to the best players rather than checking down to these crappy RBs or forcing the ball to Gronk any time he senses a whiff of pressure.

Arians' backup plan to Brady was Bridgewater who's basically Jameis without any of the arm talent and upside. iirc Teddy had 3 trips to the red zone last week and got 3 points out of it. Arians is a dinosaur fool who's totally lost in the modern game, and he made Jameis the scapegoat for his broken offense.

I hate Brady but this is false ...it’s late in his career so you might not see it as much but he def use to have throw a good deep ball ...Him and Moss lit it up that season they almost went undefeated
