Two very telling moments from last night

Malik was throwing the intermediate stuff. He was just missing badly. He had Jordan twice for good gains and effed up. **** Jeff Thomas being an absolute stud saved Malik a few times

Yes, but he was missing high (because he's too short to throw on a line over the LOS?), and that part of the passing game was mostly in the second half of a blowout against a soft defense just trying to keep things in front of them. This is a common pattern in these games where we get behind, and I think that's what Aranda was getting at. They don't really need to defend the intermediate passing game because Rosier can't do it.

Gotta let it play out. This is the exact scenario we discussed all offseason. Playing a freshman QB against LSU in that game would have been a bad move. Rosier gets the LSU and then we re-evaluate from here. Let's see what happens for Toledo and FIU. I don't put much stock in Savannah State. All 3 QBs will look good against Savannah State. They're too much of a cupcake. UM should not be playing them IMO.

I get what you're saying, but is this really what's gonna happen? Last week the word was that Rosier had definitely improved, so getting the other QBs on the field would be an afterthought.

Now that we see how bad Rosier still is, we can say, "Well, we knew he would start vs. LSU and then the other guys would get a chance to compete." That might have been the thought process on this board, but where is the evidence that that was the thought process of the coaching staff? That's what matters.

Roserrr cant process the game quick enough to pick defense apart, he freezes up during adversity....

He is now gun shy but makes up for it with very poor vision and being turrible at reading changing coverages...

ANY competent coach opens up the QB competition after last night's game. I'm sure Richt will as well.

The real questions relate to how good the other 3 QBs are. We simply do not know. None of us. We saw no practices or scrimmages. We have to accept that whoever the coaching staff plays is the best option.

I don't see Richt being married to Rosier. If Rosier is playing, its for the simple reason that he gives the team the best chance to win.

Its also worth noting that Rosier seems to have gone from team leader to goat last night. Perhaps thats a factor in how things progress going forward. Again, we'll know a lot more after the Toledo and FIU games.

This is it and I think the fans are confusing this with Richt being a **** OC (not claiming he's great...). We run full route trees all the time with guys open but its Rosier deciding to tuck and run or bomb it. Gives the perception we just run go routes all game.

Is this richt’s Achilles heel? His unbending loyalty to his son and rosier? It’s a head scratcher. I’m sure he sees that he’ll lose the team fast if he continues to trot out rosier.

Thing is, if we had a competent OC and QBC, we’d see better production
Not from Mr. Rosier!!!!!!! He has reached the summit of his talent level!

This was very sad to see. I saw this. Reminded me of Bobby Bowden in a bad way... No bueno .

Malek can't really hit his second progression. He will see it, but either does not have time, or starts to scramble and make some dirt pass or floater.

He tends to airmail balls under pressure.

Between Aranda knowing exactly what we were doing and Ed Orgeron, without thinking, going for it on fourth and short very early in the game should tell you all you need to know.

A few random thoughts:

-why didn’t we challenge the TD catch that was clearly dropped? Haven’t seen that discussed.

-we have no run game outside the RPO. Very little designed runs. Can’t win like that.

-The continued refusal to disguise our blitzes is allowing opposing OCs to take candy from a baby.

-everyone knocked coach kool and was happy to see him go. DL looked awful.

-Dallas is the better RB. I’ve been leaning that way since rewatching last year’s games. Homer needs a better OL to be productive, cause he’s a 1-cut-and-go runner.

-I saw @UknowWhat post that Richards wasn’t benched cause he was hurt. That confirms what Dee said about AR flipping out on Rosier. Richt is gonna lose this team if Rosier plays another snap.
