Miami already had one of the strongest 2027 classes in the country, and now two Miami commits, wide receiver Eli Woodard and EDGE Jayvon Dawson, made some of the biggest jumps in the entire rankings.
Woodard is now the No. 68 overall player in the Rivals300 after moving up 93 spots from No. 161. He committed to Miami on June 30, giving Mario Cristobal and Kevin Beard a major win on the recruiting trail. Since then, Woodard has continued to turn heads with his play this offseason, proving why the Hurricanes made him such a priority.
Dawson’s climb was even more crazy. After being unranked in the previous Rivals300, he’s now all the way up to No. 102 nationally, a 102-spot jump that ranks among the biggest in the country. Dawson committed to Miami on May 17, and the Hurricanes saw something in him before everyone else did. Just a couple of months later, the rankings are starting to reflect what Miami’s staff believed from the beginning.
Having one player jump into the top 100 is a big deal. Having two commits recognized as two of the biggest risers in the country says even more about where this recruiting class is headed. Woodard has developed into one of the top receivers in the 2027 cycle, while Dawson is quickly becoming one of the best edge prospects in the nation.
