Two concerns about Applewhite

Realus George got to be blown right now. Went from Richt saying he would be a focal point of the offense in a power run game to a spread offense. He can catch and run may have to loose weight to become goal line back.

He played linebacker in HS. If he can catch maybe he gets a shot at TE.

I have friends who were on offense when he was at Alabama. Then, Saban did not want to hand over the keys to the type of offense that Applewhite was wanting to run. It was said that Saban just wanted packages of spread but not the full incorporated one that he pretty much does now. After they lit up John Chavis’s offense, Applewhite apparently got really ****y about his philosophy vs Saban and Saban wasn’t having it at all. Plus, the way Saban recruited was really hard for him as a young husband. So it was mutual that Applewhite searched for more jobs and that he wanted to be back in Texas. The players enjoyed his ideas but Saban ruled with an iron fist.

That being said, I’m a big fan of his, and the fact that he’s been around even more brilliant offensive minds is a plus. I believe he will turn this offense around immediately (Pending QB development). That’s why I hope that we are able to get that QB transfer from Buffalo and allow our QBs to learn the system.

One is the Donofrio hiring. Makes you wonder about his decision making especially with OL coach yet to be selected.

Second, with two talented TEs on the roster, does he use TEs well enough. I know Fedora does.
He does use TEs. During the army game one of the first plays he used was a rub route to open up his TE for a 20yd gain. I just dont think houston recruited TEs a lot. I think Jordan and Mallory will really benefit for his scheme.

Edit: in his two years he signed three TEs one in 2017 and two in 2018. His starter had 33 receptions this season. Brevin had 32 soooo...

who cares how he uses te's and yes im sure he will here Is what should excite Miami fans his offense was 7th in nation in total yards, were 16th in passing yards, 26th in yards per completion, 24th in rushing offense, 35th in redzone offense, 20th in 3rd down pct, and they were 5th in points those are the stats everyone should care about with applewhite

Philodophy sounds like some strange type of **** too....I mean, not judging....but
Even I haven't heard of it....and I actually saw somebody in the office looking at philately on his work computer...so I'm pretty worldly.
