Two Miami Hurricanes football players were named to the ESPN's top under-the-radar-prospects heading into the 2026-27 college football season and the 2027 NFL Draft.

Miami Hurricanes defensive back OJ Frederique and defensive tackle Justin Scott were both named by ESPN. The defensive duo played a big part in the Hurricanes playoff run this past season.

Frederique is coming into his junior season with high expectations after having another solid season with the Hurricanes. He broke out his freshman season when he recorded a total of 27 tackles and one interception. This past season, he tallied 19 tackles and seven pass breakups.



This past season, Justin Scott was one of the best defenders for the Hurricanes. He recorded a total of 26 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble -- which was against Notre Dame in week one.



Both defensive players expect to have a big impact on the Hurricanes defense heading into the new year. The duo are expecting to be a part of the main anchor for the Hurricanes defense.

After watching the playoffs again. Lightfoot and Blount are going to be All Americans by year end. OJ gets hurt to much and Scott is very good but, Blount and Lightfoot have that Bain extra gear!!

 

My 2 under the radar guys who will make a big impact would be Demari Brown and Chase Smith. If they both stay healthy, this defense will be top 5, again. Brown could be the most underrated cover corner in the whole country. Fingers crossed that he can stay on the field.

Chase Smith scares the **** out of me.

 

O.J. Played entire freshman season. He got hurt last year midseason then re-injured himself in playoffs.

If he misses multiple games this season then availability is a pattern.

His playoff tape is elite.

We faced a who's who of elite WRs he was playing at high level.

Idk what people see in him. They act like he's an All American when healthy. Huge emphasis on when. For all I know he's another depth piece.

Damri Brown played from Game 1 to game 12 , He missed the Playoff which is huge.

He players well & Graded well for the season.

From Demari ‘d Perspective is progress.
Now the Challenge is complete a 16 Game season.
He was gAme time decision for last Two Games.

Demari has CB1A Value on the Field .
You won’t find Ag group o three CB better than Miami’S

 

Scott is in for a monster season IMO, OTOH, OJ is overrated
