I don't want this to get lost in the sauce of the playoff debate, but this was a **** of a day for the Canes.

We just signed TWENTY blue-chip players.

Only 4 teams in America brought in more blue-chippers than the Canes.

ND (23)
A&M (23)
UGA (23)
USC (22)
Miami (20)

Miami signed more blue-chips in this class (20) than Florida signed total players (18).

With the size of the class, the weight of how much each one plays into the total composite score gets murky, so this is the #10 overall class, but we're injecting 20 blue-chip kids into the mix, which is obviously amazing.

We signed 16 in 2025
We signed 14 in 2024
We signed 16 in 2023
We signed 10 in 2022

Hats off to the staff for the hard work. Let's hope the evals are good, we develop these kids and this winds up being the nucleus of a championship roster.

Top 5 FR from this class to make an impact???? Early predictions.....
1. Cantwell (low hanging fruit, as we hope he slides in immediately at RT)
2. Spafford (hard to keep that kind of speed out of a role)
3. Stancil (will need at least 1 FR DL to make some sort of impact)
4. Dunnigan (hopefully can get in early 3man rotation)
5. Wingo (based off senior film and raves, seems like most ready tall WR to step in)
*Bonus 6th: Mueller..... dude comes in size/speed/strength ready to battle...

I like Waters or Portis. We've dumped a ton of money into the secondary between the 2025 class, the portal, and now the 2026 class. I don't expect every kid that's on the roster today and eligible to be back actually come back. I think there will be an opportunity for a freshman DB to make a meaningful impact. Both those kids look ready to play now. Same can be said about your point on Dunnigan, but IMO the Safety room will be tougher to crack than the corner/nickel spots.

You are an excellent contributor to the site.

p.s. You need to more negative though and ***** more to blend in better with the other porsters......

I have the big safety being an impact kid , one of the cbs , the two top dl I could getting in the rotation too. The 6ft 6 wr looks solid on tape too . The rest I agree with you . One prob another ol will make the two deep

Class looks pretty good. I think staff has earned the benefit of the doubt on evals considering the early returns from last year's HS and portal class. And we weren't happy campers last year here in ESD.

Gotta sign more 5 stars going forward though

Good list. I can also envision Asharri Charles getting into the rotation here early. Post bain/mesidor leaving and any portal defections the numbers could work out for him to maybe crack 2nd team by mid to late season as he is a high floor physically ready kid.

Preciate it. I have a 4 and a 2 year old, I get a little ****y sometimes and menstruate on here occasionally, but I try to keep it real as much as possible. We have enough misery in this world, don't need it spilling into the thing I love most when it's not fully justified.

It's a deep class and that's good. What it's missing though is the top end difference makers. Maybe they're there, IDK. Who is the next Toney, Bain, or Maguinoa from this group?
Cantwell is the next Mauigoa.

Asking for the next Toney is completely unfair to any incoming freshman considering that we are actively debating whether he is the best freshman of all-time at UM. This is like asking in 1994 who is the next Ray Lewis. That guy didn’t coming along until Dan Morgan, and even he wasn’t like Lewis as a freshman.

There are people who project, that is all this is, to be contributors early, but a lot of that depends on where the room is on the roster. The more talented and deeper UM becomes, the less chances there will be for impact freshman because the players ahead of them will be very good.

Your question is fair, but if we are honest, we want to be so good that freshman have a hard time making an impact unless they are as good as Toney or Fitzgerald.
