TVD last night!

TVD is plenty athletic. He has plenty of speed but just doesn't appear fast because of his body type and how he runs. Remember his first riding TD against UVA? Tyler is the best QB in the country when kept upright. He's just as athletic as Caleb Williams.

What are you drinking? You are silly.
Tvd isn’t even close to being the best QB in the ACC
Just stop
It’s stupid

Those of us that never wavered in our support of him have known that he is the goods all along.

Only people that thought he all of a sudden sucked last season were the Gattis/Mario slurpers from last season that thought that all of a sudden, almost as if by magic, TVD forgot how to play great football.

Thankfully Mario hired Dawson and is lettting him cook.

I would not consider Tyler to be an athletic quarterback. But he’s not a statue either. He’s shown the ability to buy time with his legs and he generally makes the smart decision on the read option. Obviously, you don’t want to design an offense around his running ability but even in 2021, when he got the chance to keep on the read, he’d get good yards. I made the semi-hot take that Tyler would finish the year with positive rushing yardage in the off season. Right now he’s sitting at a solid +4.

TVD is in some ways a product of this OL...Behind this offensive line, that CSU QB last night could have been Joe Montana...

TVD is pretty big and fast once he gets a head of steam, but his lateral agility is not great. He's not quick, bad shuttle and 10yard split, goodish 40. Did I mention how big he was?

What I liked most about getting those keepers on film was that the design and execution both emphasized that straight line speed 100x better than last year. Tyler forgetting he had wheels if they left him completely unchecked on play breakdowns is the last bit of his natural game from 2021 that we have neither seen nor needed yet.

I wasn't slurping Gattis but I did start to worry that he was just a product of Lashlee's particular offense

I continue to say we’ll be seeing more Miami of Ohio type scheming against the offense going forward. More cushion and light boxes. Daring us to run to avoid the big play in the pass.
Seems like its not just daring us to run, but also to convert on the short/easy and medium/difficult stuff reliably. I imagine that TVD/X might practice the medium/difficult stuff in their sleep, so we should be able to keep enough variety if thats the opponents game plan.

With this years team, I think we can easily win that way. And if we get a lead and a good run game going they will be forced to abandon that strategy which will open up some big plays late. Just need to be patient.

Miami Ohio actually looking pretty decent as well. Nice win at Cincinnati yesterday

Which means opposing DC know that TVD + our WR group can beat their DBs in 1:1 matchups, even if they have a single high safety. They need off ball CBs with Cover 2 to prevent a critical failure.

While it must be frustrating to guys like Harrell and Young, it's a huge compliment. Maybe the mopes will stop criticizing TVD now? Kid is NFL ready and DCs know it.

As you say, take what they give you. Hopefully our 4 RB rotation all get NFL looks because they'll be crushing it.
