TVD is the problem

We severely overrated him last season too.

That FSU loss always bugged me.

Remember, Lashlee hasd to simplify the offense for him and Rambo bailed him out and made him look better than he really was.

He's not bad, by any means, but he ain't elite. I don't see much separation between him and Jake tbh.
Nobody remembers this. So why do people think he is gonna excel in an offense that’s twice as complex as the offense that Lashlee had to dumb down for him?

You first-level thinkers are always so tiresome. There should be a high-IQ premium board here so more cogent men can avoid you knuckle-draggers who lack the cognitive ability to think in terms of things beyond your binary comfort-box. I understand this is genetic, poor genes passed down from limited bloodlines. However, at least try and understand many things can be true at once, and even more importantly many things are the result of many other things. This is not like your morning decision on whether to continue to lay in your fecal-soiled sheets or rise up and wash yourself.

the timing issue excuse is bullcrap, how can he only have a connection with X and no other receiver?

Good lord I knew you guys would be critical but cotdam man. Agree that TVD was not sharp tonight. He just doesn’t look comfortable in this system. HOWEVER, despite that, he still made throws that SHOULD have put us in a position to win. A couple of those drops were just brutal.
How many drops were there today? I'm sincerely asking. Obviously, the Smith drop at the end sealed it. Is there anywhere I can find this stat?

because Gattis not running a bubble gum rpo offense. Folks are so quick to forget ripping Lashlee early on for his route concepts. When Rambo stepped up is when the offense took off. Right now there's no Rambo in this offense. Teams are basically playing Cover 2 man just incase someone like Smith slip behind a DB deep a safety is over the top
This x100 ppl want to go back to running a dumbed down RPO system that makes bad players put up stats. This new offense actually requires some real football players to be involved.

Hard to overcome incredibly poor QB play and soft WRs in the red zone.

He was bad against Southern Miss and he was bad tonight.

Right now TVD is the problem for this offense.
Go read what Michigan fans said about Gattis. Then go read Oregons fans gripes on Mario’s offensive MO the last few years. Then watch our offense. After that go watch Tvd in Lashlees offense. We knew this was a possibility. @Liberty City El warned the board.

After watching this offense three weeks , the route concepts , play calling , clock management and you still feel like he’s the issue you should probably stay away from talking football.

Lashlee’s offense allowed him to make quick simple reads to pull the trigger much quicker. Plus it was spaced out to where the defense had to cover so much ground all over the field. This offense is more methodical and strategic which means you have to identify and read defenses quick and accurately while reading through your progressions.

This is where he’s struggling and that’s going to take him time because he’s still young. Bt all the praise he’s gotten would’ve been warranted, had we kept the type of system similar to last year with better run schemes. TVD thrives off of quick decisions, tempo, and less reads from the defense.

you guys sound nuts. I made a comment about Garcia but lets be real. there were eat least 6 bad drops. the Parrish drop was a td, brashard keeps us alive. there was a timing issue but our wrs cant get open, run slow and bad routes, and made drops. cant blame it all on him especially 2nd half
First half though? Even in the second he was throwing balls MFs had to dive for

I’m not sure I agree with that number. I counted 3 or 4 for-sure drops (which still is not good), but many other “drops” were not well-thrown balls at all. And then several throws he just straight up missed. It was painful to watch.

So we are just going to throw away our qb after a couple of outings in a new offense? We aren’t even in ACC play yet. It’s like we live in some hyperbolic chamber where when we lose it’s the same as the last 20 years. There can be no nuance. I think y’all are really just mad because we were better than the team we lined up across from. That’s the sucky part. I’d like to think we could learn from this as coaches and players and move forward. But I swear we are so stuck in a failure mind-frame that y’all can’t even see it as a possibility.

I would have to look it up as well but I believe I counted six. The most egregious were Parrish and of course Smith at the end like you said. When your QB isn’t playing at his highest level you have to be able to pick him up some…

The entire offseason is about observing what works and what doesn't and scheming and practicing to maximize what you have. It seems Steele has done a masterful job of it. On offense, just the opposite. It's glaringly obvious if you have a QB perform like TVD did last year and suddenly he's looking awful, that the problem may not be with him.

We have 4.7 speed receivers who cant run to save their life and the QB is the problem.
